Whitney Surprises Bobbi-Kristina For Birthday

Published: Friday 5th Mar 2010 by Sam

To celebrate the birthday of daughter Bobbi-Kristina, Whitney Houston brought the teen on stage to sing her favourite song – in front of thousands of concert-goers in Adelaide, Australia.

Houston, 46, serenaded Bobbi, who turned 17, with the song ‘Who Would Imagine A King’ from the ‘Preachers Wife’, which is apparently one of the youngster’s favourites. Check out the touching performance, as well as Whitney’s powerful rendition of ‘I Look To You’ after the jump…

wOW! tHAT MADE ME CRY! Off to watch again!
She really loves her daughter and Krissi loves her mom- that was genuine and I haven’t heard whitney sing ‘ Who would imagine a king in decades and she sounded great!

Her voice is getting so much better.

  6. RR March 5, 2010

    What a touching moment…..
And those powerful vocals in I Look To You. That totally exceeded my expectations and exceeded her own studio vocals.

“Who Would Imagine A King” is one of my favorite songs….and she made it seem so effortless she sounds JUST LIKE THAT PREACHER’S WIFE ALBUM !!!!! CRAZY!!!! WOWWWW!!!!

  7. nickii March 5, 2010

AMMMMMMMMMMAAAZING!!!! It made me cry!!! It’s been a long time since a singer has ever made me cry, and this is some crappy quality vid I’m watching.

Those vocals at the beginning are FLAWLESS. brings me back to my high school years, I’ve always loved that song. And I look to u is such a powerful testimony. You’re the best Whitney!

  11. Sasha March 5, 2010

Who said this woman needs to lipsynch? who needs to lipsynch when you got so much talent and such a powerful voice? SHE CAN SING LIVE AND BLOW ALL YOU HATERS AWAY WITH JUsT ONE NOTE!!!

6:25-29 and 7:46-7:50 and 8:17-8:22 are AMAzing. never estimate the POWER of WHITNEY HOUSTON

  12. B4 March 5, 2010

Who would imaginea king….some notes were slightly off but overall, SHE SOUDNED LIKE HER OLD SELF!!! It’s 99% identical to the movie soundtrack!!!!!!! OMG. 15. Simon jay March 5, 2010

I haven’t even watched the performance yet , however from the comments , I know whit killed it proper , I think me n every 1 in the world needs to never count out whitney , cos her voice is from god , n this b**** knows dat , if whit ever stopped smoking , shed b bk in her prime

  16. tiny March 5, 2010

    great job whit.

She slayed, no ifs ands or buts about it.

Krissi is growing into her own and whitney is hella funny!

  17. IRONY March 5, 2010

LIKE I SAID, WHTINEY NEEDED TO CUT BACK AND STOP THE F****** NEWPORTS!! SOUNDS LIKE WHAT’S GOING ON HERE. THE DIFFERENCE IN CLARITY AND RANGE IS BEGINNING TO RESURRECT ITSELF. PRETTY OBVIOUS FROM NOT SMOKING THE LAST FEW DAYS. PRE-MELBOURNE AND POST MELBOURNE IS LIKE NITE AND DAY AND CONTINUES HERE IN ADELAIDE. SHE NEEDS TO CONTINUE NOT SMOKING AND STICK TO A WORKOUT PLAN WITH A TRAINER AND INTENSE VOCAL LESSONS. BY FRANCE, SHE SHOULD UP IT ANOTHER NOTCH IF THIS REGIMENT CONTINUES.

KUDOS TO ANDREW MCMANUS FOR CALLING HER SHIZ SMOKING OUT!! WHITNEY IS A HARD HEADED LEO AND WILL GO AGAINST THE GRAIN TO PROVE YOU WRONG. REASON WHY SHE STUCK WITH FUCKTARD BOBBY FOR SO LONG. NOW PEEPS SAY SHE CANT SING SO SHE’S PROVING THEM WRONG AND ANDREW CALLING HER OUT IS EXCELLENT!! WISH MORE “YES” MEN WOULD START CALLING OUT OTHER MORON CELEBS SO THEY WOULD GET THEIR SHIZ ACT TOGETHER…

GOOD START WHIT!! NEEDS TO KEEP UP BETTER HEALTH AND VOICE FOR REST OF HER LIFE. STOP THE CANCER STICKS YALL!!!!!!!! IMMA JUST SAYIN.

the fact she can sustain the notes , with power n clarity is giving me hope that WHITNEY and the VOICE are healing

  21. ImYourStar702 March 5, 2010

Im pissed off that “I look to you” sounds soooooo much better than the album version.

I always knew Whitney still had it.

  22. TheMan March 5, 2010

GREAT point @irony, maybe that was the difference, her last two shows have been some of the nest since she has been on tour so maybe she did stop smoking. but the power and clarity is there, if she continues like this imagine how she will sound once she hits the UK

  23. musiq March 5, 2010

@I’myourstar702: You and me both, Whitney can sing all of those songs on her album better now. She effing slayed, who would imagine a king!

That is one of sweetest sung songs and i never thougtht hat she could recapture the magic of that song and she did for her baby!

I know not to underestimate Whitney!

ILTY- oh lawd, go on and testify !

So glad to see everyone enjoying my video. I was blessed to be one of the hundreds their to witness this emotional moment. Whitney sure still has it all, dont let a few bad shows get to you all, she is human. No matter how she is feeling she gives you 100% of herself on stage, she truly is an inspiration to everyone. Thank you Whitney.
