American Idol alum Fantasia returned to the show last night to perform her brand new single ‘Bittersweet’. Check out her soulful rendition of the song – the first to be lifted from her upcoming 3rd studio album, below…
As much as we support Fantasia, I couldn’t help but wonder if another song would have translated live (and for that audience) slightly better…namely ‘Even Angels’ or better yet ‘Move On Me’ – which she performed in its entirety here in London.
Still, great performance…

i disagree. ballads have always been her forte (truth is, free yourself, when i see u)
anyway, it was a great performance as usual. it’s nice to see her perform in a more toned-down manner. hopefully this will give the single a good boost on the charts.

Soulful… but awkward in a way because of the “pop” like enviro of Idol! Fantasia always sticks out when it comes to Idol! Event Angels is DONE!

I think Fantasia did great. If Fantasia would have came out uptempo and scream (Like she did on AI last time “Bore Me”) everyone would have been saying she’s a hott mess. Fantasia has paid attention to the people and has toned it down and allowed us to enjoy the song and her voice. What do you people want from her? When she screams its a problem. When she tones it down its a problem. Who cares about the people on Idol?
Besides Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry and Clay Aiken, American Idol has gotten it wrong. Now dont get me wrong Jennifer Hudson is okay, but she had a bigger platform than Fantasia (Dreamgirls, Oscars and HEAVY HEAVY promotion) and still only went Gold. But no one has nothing to say. Im convinced that America has a serious problem with Fantasia, and I’m ok with Fantasia being a non-mainstream artist like Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Musiq and Monica. Gudluck people.

Fantasia is a great singer as well, but for some reason isn’t as popular as the others u named. Everyone was loving, “When I See You” though–one of her best songs.
