I do agree that it is wrong for people to say that Chris should beat her some more or kill her. Domestic violence is never okay, and it is also very sad that your cousin has to grow up without a mother because of it, but this has nothing with the post, and as far as I’m concerned, I don’t know how TGJ is promoting domestic violence by saying that Rihanna sucks at singing and performing and saying that Chris Brown is an amazing performer. Um prolly because the US mainly supports trash. Yes they buy albums with decent music, but as far as singles are concerned i.e. see Rihanna (The ulimate single’s artist of the moment), of course she should have those number ones.
As far as talent is concerned, vocally I think she has more potential, but Chris has writing, dancing, singing, acting and producing skills. Does he not? Please do correct me if I am wrong.
Umm Chris suffered A LOT for what he did and is still facing consequences for his actions. I have never seen another celeb who has committed the act get treated even half as bad as Chris is. He does not have it easy and certainly no one is condoning violence of any kind. What he did was wrong, I know it, you know it, he knows it. Just because he finally (i’m still so hyped for this award show now!!) gets to pay tribute to his lifelong idol does not erase everything Chris had to face and still face because of his actions.
But i’m elated to see things finally pick up for him. Yes, he still has some set backs, but many people would not expect Chris to be where he is today. I am in LOVE with ‘Deuces’ as well as almost everyone I know who has heard it. The more it gets played on MTV Jams and BET, the more exposure it gets, and hopefully the more we hear it on radio. Its a start, and its a good start. I am rooting for him and I hope he continues to rise!
Chris was bascially one of the few artists that paid tribute to MJ while he was ALIVE! Not when it was popular to do so after his death. Michael saw that and that’s why he chose Chris himself to do the tribute back in 07 at the World Music Awards. Chris was only 17 years old! Now tell me that’s not huge. To have the King Of Pop wanting you to perform for him at that age! BET messed up last year and they did Chris wrong. They had him in rehearsal for days but the day before the show the told him not to come. That’s so wrong. That’s why Chris was chosen this year. Number one they said he was chosen because of POPULAR DEMAND. Number 2 they needed redemption for that f-ed up tribute they did last year. I am so psyched about this performance. It is so overdo! Chris is one of the best singer/dancers out there right now…IMO he is only superseded by Usher (Ne-Yo is a better singer but not a better dancer). The fact Chris was about to see MJ for a preview of the “This Is It” concert routine on the day of MJ’s death, means MJ still admired Chris in spite of his transgressions.
@the Rihanna fans, I am a CB fan who doesn’t believe that Rihanna deserved what happened to her. Chris showed extremely poor judgment that night. But I do see that both have been the offender and the victim within the span of their relationship, remember Rihanna acknowledged that she too slapped him during a verbal argument. Nobody should be so emboldened to physically hurt another person in order to express emotions. I think their situation was unfortunate and a case of two well-meaning kids who had bad experiences with DV in their own homes and neither ever got the professional counseling to understand their childhood trauma. Her father was an abusive drug addict and Chris’ stepfather abused his mother and even shot himself in the head (causing himself to be blind eye in one eye) in order to keep Chris’ mother from leaving him. Both Chris and Rihanna went through an enormous amount of hell for a number of years at a young age. Then at age 15/16 both showed up on the music scene with all its pressures and influences.
I hope both continue to learn and grow from this life lesson but still move forward in their personal and professional pursuits.

Wasn’t Chris supposed to do a tribute last year at the BET Awards? I’m not really sure but some people said he didn’t because Jay-Z threatened to back out and not perform. Something like that. But back to the topic, good for him i guess. I never really cared for him much but if he does good, he’ll get props where props are do. I’m really looking forward to seeing kanye though.
He is being allowed to perform now because Rihanna’s tour is about to be cancelled. It’s all over the web. Her influence is waning, and people are forgetting about any pity they had for her. Her Rated R sold out of sympathy, and Grafitti didn’t sell because of anger directed towards Brown. The record company would have spent a fortune on Rihanna as long as they could milk sympathy. Well, people have stopped talking about the incident and actually started listening to her sing and watching her perform, and they aren’t willing to spend their money to see her live.
Truth is, no one now cares if Rihanna doesn’t like it. Bottom line. Her reign is almost up. I feel sorry for her because she seems to have no clue what is happening.

Jay-Z and Rihanna are really close and he doesn’t condone what he did to her so I doubt that he will let his wife take the stage with Chris Brown. I didn’t think CB was doing a performance all by himself because there are people like Usher, Justin Timberlake, Omarion, and Ciara who definitely mimicked much of MJ’s moves. I’m glad it’s a dance tribute to his MJ’s music because that is what was missing from all the award shows last year. All these people singing his songs but Mike was equally known for his dancing abilities as well. I’m really happy for CB because along with the participating in the dancing tribute, he will receive the first AOL Fandemonium Award at the BET Awards. He is leading by 21 pts. and on the last challenge #TeamBreezy has the lead as well. CB fans are just excited that he gets to honor a musician who he always honored in his own live performances. You can go on youtube now and find CB paying homage to MJ on his tours to support his debut album, Essence Fest, World Music Awards, and on the Fan Appreciation Tour.

Ri doesn’t have a restraining order against Chris. The judge ordered that Chris stay away from Rih and vice versa. And if you remember Rihanna tried to oppose that in court. She said in the interview with Diane Sawyer that she didn’t want that and it was unnecessary.

Just wanted to give a great big THANK YOU! Even if you hate Chris for his actions (which is understandable) you still gave him props where he deserves them. He built his entire career off of MJ and he is FINALLY being recognized for it and I think this is amazing. Im a Chris fan mostly because of the way he respected MJ and how always said that MJ was his idol while he was still alive. I think he is an amazing peformer and dancer and that will NEVER change.

SO GLAD Chris has been tapped to do the MJ honor. There is no other performer out there today that can compare to him today – in terms of stage performance – just like Michael. Okay I’ve never really been a Chris Brown or Rihanna fan but after reading some of the comments I just want to say that this post has nothing to do with the abuse incident. I will never feel the same about Chris Brown BUT at some point he has to go on with his life. It doesn’t surprise me that he is being given this opportunity. Much like Ciara lots of people consider him a dynamic performer/dancer; on top of that I think he also has vocal potential or promise and had more crossover appeal. The bottom line is some will support him based on his talent and some won’t. I think those who won’t may as well accept the fact that he probably is not going anywhere. His carreer was just getting kicked off when he committed the offense and while it obviously was a deserved major setback, it doesn’t mean that he won’t eventually work his way back to that momentum or somewhere near that level.

First of all, I am not condoning the fact that Chris Brown beat Rihanna. Chris Brown is not one whos has beat a woman on a continous basis,and he is not the poster child for Domestic Violence. It happened and he was tried and convicted in the court of law. I believe anyone who has paid their debt for a crime committed should be allowed to get on with their life. The public has not been nice to this guy at all and it was deserved. The bible teaches us to forgive our fellow brothers/sisters for their mistakes and move on. The only person Chris has to answer to is God not man.
Last year, Rihanna got the hearts of all the American people and more importantly her career flourish because of it! It’s over move the F*** ON!
