If you compare Madonna and Janet, it’s clear that Madonna has had more number one single and albums that Janet. Madonna’s tours have always pulled in big money. In fact her last tour, Sticky & Sweet is the top selling tour by a single artist in history!
What has Janet ‘done for us lately’? Her last tour had cancelations all over the place…saying she had vertigo???!!! She seems to be doing fine now. That was just a nice way of saying…my records don’t sell anymore and my nobody wants to see my shows.
I am not hating on Ms. Jackson at all…I am a big fan…..but she has defiantly lost it with the public ever since she tried to top Madonna’s Britney/Xtina kiss with her wardrobe malfunction. Nice Janet try….but NO ONE can top MADONNA the real queen.
Comparing Madonna and Janet is like comparing Beyonce and Rihanna to Lady Gaga to X-tina. They all have their own talents and can sell records and create press…and they all have their loyal fans…so in my eyes everyone is a Queen in their own right. Madonna has set the bar for all the new artist that have come and gone in the last 30 years. She has been a successful artist since she came on the music scene back in 1983. Give it up to the girl!
As for these pitures….Madonna is bringing something new again. l love how she puts a storyline in everything she does. These ads are more interesting than the boring studio shots we get from every other fashion house. These pics are actually based on an old Italian movie from the 60’s called Mama Roma.

Gaga, has taken a page out of Janet’s book(see the black and white Rhythm Nation like stomping in Alejandro). I will say that Gaga doesn’t stick to any one ground breaking artist, when it comes to imitating them(so yes, Madonna was a reference for her as well.
Janet’s image and style can be found in several that study her perhaps a little more exclusively, such as Britney Spears(Stronger), Ciara(Promise), Christina Aguilera(Dirrty), Rihanna(Sos, Umbrella), Jlo(If you had my love, I’m glad), Pussycat dolls/Nicole – (Buttons),Usher(My way – Yeah).

Janet is an albums artist with 5 clasic albums…(Control, Rhythm Nation, Janet, Velvet Rope and All for You). People remember each era, oppose to only her singles(which she stand on her own with too, as Madonna does).
Madonna does have the biggest tour ever and Janet owned it for the biggest debut for a female ever. Janet has a #1 in each and every dceade(80’s, 90’s,’00 and even in 2010- where Madonna doesn’t) just like Madge, on several charts(Pop/Dance/R&B)!
She clearly is just as impressive. Some may think she is moreso, but that a matter of perception. I’m one of those that do!

@ Pum Pum Juice… I have a love hate relationship. I don’t think she has alot of talent. I think she’s one of the most clever and interesting females in the industry. Her gift for reinvention is brillant. Her presence wasn’t forced on us (the way Gaga’s is). So, I give credit where it’s due.

JANET was born into fame. She did not earn it like Madonna id when she first stated. Madonna paid her dues whild Janet, even though she did not want to, rode to stardom becasue of her lastname.
