A new song from Ne-Yo has surfaced. The track, entitled ‘Hurt Me’, is supposedly produced by Stargate and is said to be from his new album, ‘Libra Scale’, which hits stores on September 21st. Check out the song below:
While the production on the track is catchy, the vocals leave a lot to be desired. Ne-Yo is a capable singer but I sense that his voice lacks the range and power to take this song to the next level. However, judging by what we heard from the ‘Libra Scale’ listening session, Ne-Yo has a few tricks up his sleeve with little to worry about.

This song works for his voice. It doesn’t really need that much to me. Like range, but he could’ve added a little bit more umph with range. But, it works well for him. Good song

I love it. His voice fits electropop so well. He has the most versatile voice in music just like Rihanna.
Ne-yo stop, just stop! I selected miss! I do like this better than his other records. I’m done with liking Ne-yo though. It won’t happen this era and it will be forever if he keeps this up.

I prefer organic Ne-Yo… this isn’t organic, this feels forced. He has a nice voice, but this song sounds like him trying to keep up with all this dance-pop craze that’s going on right now. It’s not always a good idea to follow trends. What works for others won’t necessarily work for you.

Um….I’m not lovin it. Actually I am quite disappointed. It sounds like a demo for another artist. Like Trent said, he just doesn’t have the vocal ability to pull this off.
I like Ne-Yo….I do..but he sounds like he is desperate to appeal to the mainstream audience. I respect the fact that he wants to try something different, but this just doesn’t sound like him at all.
I like Ne-Yo as an r&b artist. I don’t want him to try to do what he thinks will sell. I don’t want to call him a sell out, I will wait till I hear more from this album. But so far I haven’t heard anything that I am impressed with.

Something about Neyo has never sat well with me..I want to support a home town boy but I can’t. His voice really lacks power always has, always will. There are really no strong male vocalists getting played on the radio right now ( including Usher, sorry). My opinion
The song may get play, If Derulo songs get play why shouldn’t this? It’s the same electro pop dance thing that everyone seems to be RUNNING to right now. Neyo knows how to write a hit song but I have never liked ANY of his music ( his own or the music he has written for others). Doesn’t have enough grit or substance for me. It’s a miss for me but it’s probably going to be a moderate hit.

I love Ne-Yo!! I see that he is going in a different direction musically. I remember he made it clear that he was getting a little bored with r&b. I admire his braveness. His mind is very creative and Ne-Yo will ALWAYS have that ability to write the hell out of a song.
For those of you that agree with the statement that “his voice lacks the range and power ” obviously do not know anything about singing and vocal ability. Incase you haven’t noticed, Ne-Yo is one of those rare singers that voice sounds better live than in the studio. Studio does not do him justice.
I’ve seen Ne-yo live and let me tell you, brutha can SANG!! And he dances too…while he is singing! He got huge talent. Such a shame that this generation don’t know how to do nothing but criticize people KNOWING that they couldn’t do half of what the people they are criticizing can do. So easy to sit on your ass and say something is wack, or it’s garbage. It’s another thing to get up off your ass and show em how it’s done.

This s*** is f***** great. People are forgetting ne-yo was doing the house music/ electro s*** back in 08 with closer so hes not copying anyone other than himself. He is the only male r&b artist that can make a whole ablum without one track about s**!!!!!! Usher, Trey songz, chris brown, ect can not and never will do that. None of them even write there own s*** plus hits for other artist so the haters can shut the f*** up!!!! The only reason he doesnt get the respect he deserves is because people think hes gay or they dont think he looks good enough. Id rather listen to quality music then chris brown whack ass trying to be hard on mixtapes after beating a b**** up
You can be a laptop bag that looks sporty, but still be used in offices. Not only the sporting aspect, but it is strong enough, they could pocket is used if you are using your laptop a lot.
