I love Janet to death, but those performances all seemed very forced and lazy. I am so used to seeing her tear it up with perfect choreography and sharp dance moves and it was lacking. A very lackluster performance from Miss. Jackson!

First and foremost I am so glad that I am an 80’s baby. To be able to grow up in an era of real music and real entertainers! Janet killed it hands down. People will always find some reason to hate, STFU! How many of today’s entertainers will be able to have a career like hers….NONE! No one will because the fans of todays musicians are so fickle its not even funny. Janet may lip when she does a lot of dancing so the f*** what!!! She has nothing to prove and there is no one and I mean no one out here who can touch her as a performer.
This is what you call an ICON! She has inspired so many. Even at 44 mama still got moves. And for the person who called her fat you must not be into woman, cause damn Janet ass was PHAT! Let me just say Im still here in New Orleans and Janet did an AMAZING job last night. She came on about 11:30 and was off close to 2am she did about 31 songs total. The segements dont even cover half of what she did. To all the haters keep hating, cause the crowd went crazy.

I think janet is an icon in her own right, and no one can take that away from her. But as far as her performances last night I was not impressed. Personally I think she was boring or maybe there was no life to the songs but janet attempting to act interested in what she was singing was unbearable to even watch. So it is what it is, she really has nothing to prove nor should she release an more albms cause she has had her time. Artist these days do not know how to re-invent themselves and still maintain senority with the public and not just with their fans. Its okay if you dont agree, but dont tell me how great you think she is or was because you and everyone else thinks she is too. lol

Your fave could never put on a show like that. She is clean and crisp with her choreo, vocals on point, stage presence, check. Yall are probably angry fat slobs attached to your couch mad you cant move. There is NOTHING sloppy about this performance. She is a true Jackson. I was there last night and Janet delivered one of her best shows. Haven’t watched any clips on the internet (yet) but I assume they are taken out of context. She looked fantastic and will definitely be one of the talked about (positively) highlights of the weekend. Now she can go back to acting….

I was there at the show, and I must say the dancing was off from the beginning, so using that she was tired talk does not cut it. She also lipped the entire show, including the ballads. I was quite disappointed, and so was some others. Some people even left lol.
I agree w/ JOHN & MIKW . Maybe we’re seeing 2 diff things, but according to the videos i’ve just watched, this didn’t look like a “slay” to me, look pretty bland & lazy to me. & janet usually delivers, especially choreography wise. This was, just not cutting it @ all. Maybe she delivered if i was actually @ the show, but these videos are not giving me any life @ all.
And I must add, that I went to a Tina Turner show last year, who is in her 70s btw, and she had way more energy then Janet. Tina is a much better performer. There were people in the audience, saying How Janet looks like a man with short hair lol
Janet is getting rave reviews because she is carrying MJ’s torch. If MJ were still living, I gurantee you this her set would have received bad reviews.

From reading these comments, it seems apparent that the perception of the show is that it is different from the balcony than from the 13th row (where I was). She definitely wasn’t fat (see the Discipline pix for confirmation) and the slow songs weren’t followed by backing. I can see how one would say that if you were in the bleachers watching the screens for your close-ups. But, for those of us looking in her mouth, it was a different story.
With regard to her energy, she isn’t a 20 year old so endurance is the name of the game. And Tina may have had more energy but she BARELY cuts a dance move nowadays, which is fine.
Next time, buy some REAL seats and then have an opinion.
At the end of the day, she re-affirmed some fans and maybe made some new ones.

@Yes, I feel you – Janet’s show was sick and I saw it for myself live! I don’t know who can do non-stop dancing and performing for 2hrs like she does! Those moves aren’t sloppy, trust me. Janet keeps up with any dancer she’s doing choreography next to and it even looks BETTER watching Janet do them! She’s smooth(maybe that’s where she looks like she’s not giving it that extra umph to some). If she’s smooth it oozes alot of s** appeal, so that’s intentional and when she dances hard it’s more so for songs like Rhythm Nation/Doesn’t Really Matter. That is where it makes sense because those songs have portions of them that require for her to be a little more technical because the dancing is more intricate in parts.

FYI…Janet does not Lip synch. She is actually singing the lead lyrics live. That’s partly why she doesn’t dance much. She has to sing through the entire show. All performers do that, unless you are Britney Spears (still don’t know how she has a career).
PS. She is the reason that other artists (Justin Timberlake, Usher, & etc that toured with her) sing live at their performances. They have support from the background singers and the background vocals of the real track. The lead vocals are the performer singing live.

Get your facts straight, neither lip syncs the entire shows, and Michael rarely lip synced at all. He was one of the few that danced and sang just as hard.. WATCH HIS CONCERT PERFORMANCES and make sure u know what you are talking about!
