Alesha Dixon Performs On ‘Daybreak’ / Project In Disarray

Published: Sunday 28th Nov 2010 by Sam

Alesha Dixon‘s latest round of promotional performances are no doubt seeing her fight not only for the success of her new single ‘Radio’, but also her record deal.

For, despite major Radio 1 backing, a US shot video, and her highly publicised role on Strictly Come Dancing, ‘Radio’ sits at an abysmal #101 on iTunes following its release this week. This on the heels of the chart disappointment that was ‘Drummer Boy’ – which too had many a high profile performance, as well as radio support and a pricey video, only to peak at #15 on the Official UK Singles Chart.

Needless to say, its hardly a successful start for her second studio LP ‘The Entertainer’, which hits stores tomorrow. With labels ever-ready to drop acts if projects don’t bring back adequate returns, it’s not looking good for Ms. Dixon…at all.

In any case, peep her latest performance of the song on Daybreak earlier this week.

DON’T YOU JUST HATE THE FACT THAT PEOPLE LIKE CHERYL COLE WHO CAN’T SING TO SAVE HER F****** LIFE GETS NUMBER ONE SINGLES AND PEOPLE LIKE ALESHA WHO ACTUALLY ARE TALENTED GET LEFT IN THE CORNER!!

Oh come on! The song has been on iTunes for 12 hours! Stop being such a stirrer, and wait until it actually charts before you declare it a flop.

I love this song actually! not a fan of hers but I love her touch/ vibe in this song.. what a disappointing flop!! – this should make at least the top 10…
Finally i hate her hair-style when its tight back!! does not suit her… small face large body…

Damn she sound good. Why is it all the non-singers can get #1’s and people with real talent gets nowhere. And we all know just who I’m talking about. Well we have to see how it wil work out on Itunes. I hate itunes because they can be bought to keep and artist from moving up the chart.

I actually like this song but i think maybe people feel like they’ve already heard it since the beat is practically the same as Robyn’s “Dancing on my Own” which was a hit?
I like Alesha and wish she would have more success but i don’t think she’ll ever be somebody to have steady success as a solo artist, her first album was a success mainly because they threw random singles out that sounded nothing alike and two caught on (“The Boy DOes Nothing” & “Breathe Slow”) i think if this album flops Misteeq should reform, we need a girl group like that again.

Alesha Dixon has such an amazing voice.

However, it’s a horrid time to release anything.
    x factor is finishing up.
all these christmas no. 1 pushes.
plus bleetanna, k$, chezzamole and other pop w**** have already released their s***.

All you can hope is that the UK public wake up and back their local, true and damn s*** talent.

This makes me SHAKE MY DAMN HEAD!!!!!!!! Talent Like Aleshia Dixon and Nadine Coyle are ignored whilst the publicity machine that is cheryl cole are reigning at no.1. Isnt if funny how shes still going by Cole even after her divorce – I guess Tweedy isnt as appealing huh. Unfortunately it doesnt seem like the music industry is gonna change anytime soon so…

granted i’ve never seen the girl before but it looks as if she were crying before the performace(either that or she has bags under her eyes)…

  12. Dmoney November 30, 2010

This girl is not a singer and you can tell by listening to her voice. She should have stayed true to herself and stuck to rapping. Song is crap pop crap and I can’t see it making any kind of impact on the charts.
