A new song from Keri Hilson surfaced moments ago. The song, entitled ‘The Way You Love Me’, was produced by Swizz Beatz for her new album, ‘No Boys Allowed’. Check it out below:
Why in the name of Prince’s high heel shoes was this not Hilson’s first single?! This song is pure, burning fire! The risque lyrics, the banging beat and the raw energy would have guaranteed this a place at the top of iTunes without a doubt.
Compared to the ice cream truck melodies of the filth that is ‘Pretty Girl Rock’, it is almost insulting that this record was not given preference for radio treatment. In addition to her blond hair colour, this is just another bad decision Hilson had made in 2010.

Trent, as much as I love you and sometimes hate your condescending comments, I have to say that I think you’re wrong about “Pretty Girl Rock.” “Pretty Girl Rock” has the perfect melodic blend that consist of a thumpy Hip-Hop bass line that goes against the bouncy R&B beat. The hook of the song is just utterly infectious and I couldn’t be any giddier about any other song that Keri has surfaced back onto the music scene with. The lyrical content speaks of a boastful personality, one that is very vain yet silly. I believe the song could have been a Top 10 hit simply because it was relateable. We all have those moments where we’re kinda narcissistic. This “The Way You Love Me” is atrocious, loud and annoying. I can’t even begin…it sounds like Beyonce’s “Ring the Alarm” part 2.

Trying to hard. What happened to the classic Keri? Her first album, was fairly good. She was trying to be herself, and break into the music industry. All her current songs are rushed, and they sound generic. This song does not sound mastered, its very repetitive, and her voice sounds strained. Don’t put out the album this year, Kerri, it will be a flop!
The beat is dope, but she needs to re-record this with better lyrics, and sing this instead of shouting it. This really should have been the first single. Breaking Point is a brilliant song, but it has no commercial appeal, and Pretty Girl Rock isn’t mature or catchy enough. As a stan, it annoys me that she can almost never make the right choices, like she could have had another hit with Get Your Money Up but released Flop Dance instead.

When I read the song title I thought it was a ballad.
No doubt, the beat goes hard, but it’s so unnecessary to drop the f-bomb and on the other hand it sounds like a whole mess. Sometimes her vocals don’t seem strong enough to stand the pounding beat.
