With so much He Say/She Say still swirling, yours truly believes it apt to present perhaps the most fair, balanced and well-rounded account of what really went down. I deffo felt sorry for LeToya n LaTavia, but as said: destiny’s child was Beyonce n Matthew..”everything else were branches and leaves”. I know for a fact Beyonce was a bit of a b**** back in the early days, you can tell just by watching her old interviews (and this is coming from a MAJORRRRR Beyonce fan). But referring to LaTavia n LeToya as “bad seeds” wasn’t exactly the nicest thing to say. LeToya has never being a b**** to Beyonce in public, her problem was with MANAGEMENT (and rightly so) not necessarily Beyonce herself.
I don’t get why Beyonce was soooooooo upset that LeToya n LaTavia “left” either???? They were booted from the group??? If she wanted them in the group surely she had the power to stop her daddy from firing them :s so that literally makes no sense. Beyonce n Matthew made out as though they left on their own accord, which wasn’t true. Why did they say Letoya n Tav left??? som1 explain lol i never understood that
Anyways, what’s done is done. I’m glad LeToya, Kelly and Michelle are really good friends these days and sorted out their issues, their close friendship proves the fact they didn’t really have any major in-group issues in the first place, but rather it was management AKA Matthew (and to an extent Beyonce) treating the other girls unfairly and not allowing them to have a voice.

I think it was insightful what the girls went through in DC. I wish them the best in their careers.
Met some of the ex-members, and read all of the articles, interviews on the departures, so that video doesn’t tell me anything I don’t know. What I can say is:
DON’T COMPARE LETOYA TO LATAVIA: Latavia had much more responsibilities and “handicaps” after her departure for DC and Anjel. Just like Malcolm Gladwell’s book “The Outliers,” it takes more to succeed than just time and effore—sometimes it’s your family and surroundings that stops you.
LATAVIA MOVED ON: Check out Moving On on youtube by Anjel. “Life is much too short to be holding on to hurt.” Now when is the mixtape, parties, coming.
LATAVIA HAS A RIGHT TO TELL HER STORY: Everybody and their mama is telling their story—even D-list American Idol alumni (Melinda Doolittle) have books, and you all got your fix on Effie/Florence Ballard.
PEOPLE ARE GOING TO ASK LATAVIA ABOUT DC: So why not tell it in a book. Latavia spoke the LEAST on DC. Again, THE LEAST!
FARRAH was the only one who took direct shots at Beyonce, not Letoya/Latavia—even though Bee nor Kelly (especially Kelly) wasn’t too kind to them.
FARRAH was right on some things, but delusional about going into DC and think there would be equality.

This is tiring. I have respect for Letoya, she’s managed to have solo success and fight hard for her record deal. She was always on her grind and I think she really deserves it. Farrah and Latavia seem to have been the “bad seeds” in the group. What’s not being presented in this argument is the lack of commitment and discipline the 2 have shown and how they’ve missed promotional dates. I’ve heard this side of the story, so I’m aware and objective in this. I think Latavia wants pity. She was the groups rapper in the beginning and when I think about it I’ve never heard her sing anything online. Can she sing? When Letoya was hustling you seen that she was recording material for her album and she was hungry! She formed a group with Latavia and dropped her, so how dedication does she have. Do she want a career of her own – where’s the hard work? I’m done with this topic! It’s time for her to piece up the piece and create what she wants out of her own life.
I knew it I knew it I knew it! I been telling people for years. MATTHEW IS THE DEVIL! HE made them girls sign those contracts without there parents being there is insane and very suspect. BEyonce driving a jaguar and the other girls are taking the bus is another slap in the face to them. Is that even RIGHT!? THey signed a contract…they are legally binded to that group for that year or so in which the contract says. OK they weren’t the hardest working girls in the group, well havea meeting with them and tell them about it…give them a warning! THen if things dont change DROP THEM!…..
a temp of 104 degrees….and she being replaced is not EVEN HUMANE! THe girl can’t help it…how come they couldn’t bring her and get her a doctor to care for her until she got better, it only takes 2 days maybe 3 to get the temp down to normal. That was soooo WRONG! and anyone with a heart should understand that.
Beyonce is a snake. That’s all this was about. Nobody could outshine her and her daddy. Kelly and Michelle were willing to be her hand maidens, and take whatever scraps the Knowles family were willing to throw their way. The other three weren’t, and so they had to go.
On the for real for real, LeToya and Farrah were also both prettier than Beyonce, which no doubt made her that much madder and snobbier about them staying in their “place”.

That was a very interesting look at basically the truth it seems like. I really think it’s all Mathew’s shady ass’ fault for the chaos in the group. If your daughter and her best friend are basically lead singers, it’s only natural for him to show a little more favortism to them, especially since he did the management thing on a whim. That contracts portion LeToya was talking about sounded so shady. I’m glad LeToya made it to #1 and continue to wish her success. I wish the same for LaTavia & Farrah alike.

Although it’s old and meant for books and Lifetime movie all I can say is Tav had family responsibilities after Anjel, and she was trying to get back on her music hustle—especially after seeing Letoya’s success.
Tav’s voice sounds almost identical to T-boz. And she sang the first verse on Sweet Sixteen.

Oh man, this is so old, but interesting. Maybe if there was an attorney involved, this would have worked out differently. Mathew replacing LaTavia on the tour was retarded, if anything, DC could have went on as 3-with only 2 lead singers at the time, it wouldn’t have made a difference. Beyonce referring to Tavia and Toya as bad seeds was wrong, especially if you know they didn’t have a problem with you, but more so your daddy. Maybe Bey and Kelly could have done a little more to help their friendship with the other two, but with all the glitz and glamour in their faces-hey, they were just doing what they were told and that was to shut up and be the stars, and they were so young at the time so….And to find out that you were exed out by a world premiere video must have been like a s*** to the gut, that shows you how low down Mathew really was. Yeah, I understand he worked hard for those girls in the beginning to get them where they were, but at the end of the day, you don’t do 17 year old human beings that way. Farrah on the other hand is not as innocent as she proclaims in this interview, because I know she was a little ego-headed really early, so for her to leave doesn’t leave much of a scar…….and she wanna say not too long ago that she wouldn’t mind a DC reunion, keep dreamin’ baby cakes. In conclusion, the DC story is paralleled with the Supremes, it’s very apparent. The rise, the in-between fall, the one that became a superstar, the one that found success in other areas, and the ones that are still looking for a chance. This is why groups don’t make it anymore, especially manufactured ones. It’s all about comparisons, favoritism, and greed. So solos just work easier. At present day, the majorly successful one is still Beyonce, none of the other members are close to scratching the surface of what she has right now. Is it fair, no, do I feel bad for some of them-yes, but they have to find a way to make it on their own to some capacity.

There were so many internal problems in the group, from what i’ve heard and read….it was Beyonce and Kelly on one side and LeToya and LaTavia on the other. Some of their personalities crashed. I will always root for LeToya and LaTavia, but the group still could have made it as a trio if the got rid of LaTavia (no offence to her). DC3 would have been hot if it was Beyonce, Kelly, and LeToya. But the took a long route and replaced both, and then dropped another. And really, are you guys gonna sit there and type “B**** GET OVER IT, IT WAS 11 YEARS AGO”. If only you were in their shoes! To have your career taken from you just like that! I will always comend LeToya for continuing her career after all that has happened. In the end the common denominator to all of this drama is two people. Latavia needs to get over it and move on, like her friend LeToya. It seem to me like she expect Beyonce to help her, or she wants Beyonce to failed. Beyonce is a hard worker and from what I since that happen, when you are set for tours/promotional dates if not there to perform, you will be obligated to pay a percentage of loss so yes the show must go on. Latavia could have done just like LeToya if she was willing to work just as hard to become that singer/artist.
