If you thought Kanye West was getting ready to slow down then think again. The Hip-Hop visionary has announced his intentions to release his 6th studio album this summer. Furthermore, the West also has plans to drop a joint project with his mentor, Jay-Z, entitled ‘Watch The Throne’, in 2 months.
However, don’t expect West to give up on his platinum-certified ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ just yet as the video for his new single, ‘All Of The Lights (Ft. Rihanna, John Legend, The-Dream, Ryan Leslie, Tony Williams, Charlie Wilson, Elly Jackson, Alicia Keys, Fergie, Kid Cudi & Elton John)’, premieres next month.

I find it funny Rated R and Kanye’s recent albums were both certified Platinum (so far Rated R has sold more overall), yet Rihanna was repeatedly bashed for putting out an album a year later, calling her songs “fast food music”, and desperate to remain relevant. Why are people so against artists realeasing multiple albums in short amounts of time?? Actually he has sold 915,000 in the states so far.. and remember, he sold close to 500,000 in the first week and yeh for a big name, because that what he is… its a flop! Everyone knows who he is… everyone knows how highly he thinks of himself.

Ok, maybe the project he’s doing with Jay will come out this year, but I don’t think he’s going to release another full length studio, Kanye West LP by the summer. Ye’s done this before, when after one or two months following the release of “808’s” he said that another album was coming out in the summer, and it never materialized.
The only album I have of his is Graduation, and it isn’t like 808’s didn’t come out a year after Graduation. So it wouldn’t be surprising if he released another album in the fall.

No. He’s been known to publicly throw tantrums for not winning awards. Did he flop then? No. And he’s always turned lots of people off with his arrogance, but it has never affected his music sales because his fans know by now not to expect humility and graciousness from him, all we expect from him is good music, and that’s it. When he stops delivering the goods on the music front, that’s when we’ll move on from him.

The only reason I didn’t include Rihanna in that is because she’s grown to a lesser extent than the other 3. Rihanna grew with each record until Loud. It’s hard to classify, simply because I think Loud is her best record but also because it’s so different than Rated R. Although, in my opinion, Loud is her best record, she never seems to put enough feeling into upbeat music which was paramount following such an emotional record like Rated R.

I was hoping Kanye focus on promoting MBDTF for a while. That has so many great songs I’d like to see become singles. I wonder what the rush is all about.
