when I said, backstage, I meant, interviews backstage. So, you get your award, say a little speech (if you’re there to receive the award), then go backstage to say a few words to the press. Plus, ET, Access Hollywood, E!, and all those shows and outlets usually have kiosks or whatever, where the stars stop buy to sit and chat.

Album of the Year needs to go to Eminem, The Fame Monster wasn’t even a complete album and Recovery was bigger. Best Rap/Sung collaboration will definantly end up going to ESOM or LTWYL, same with Record of the Year. I think Song of the Year will go to Lady Antebellum. I don’t know, it just seems like it will. I will go off if Justin wins Best New Artist. Yes, I’ll be happy for him, but Drake, Florence & Espreranza Spalding all deserve it over him. Same with Pop Vocal Album, they’ll let Katy have that one. Halo live shouldn’t have been nominated, but in all honesty, it’s the best vocals in that category so Bey deserves it. I want Monica to take home the R&B Vocals award and for the album. I’d love to see Usher win for There Goes My Baby. He’s definantly taking home the award for Raymond V. Raymond, even though Janelle has the superior album. Best Rap song already went to ESOM. As for best Rap Album, Eminem or The Roots deserve that one.
Also, does anyone else think next year’s Grammys are going to s*** on this years? Beyonce, Gaga and Britney are sure to be nominated for some big awards. MBDTF will SWEEP the rap categories. I think Nicki has a strong chance of winning a Grammy for Fly and I KNOW that Monster will win Best Rap Performance for a Group. Thanks for suggestion! I really loved that performance. I’ve always loved the song, but after seeing them perform it, it makes me really want to get into them. I haven’t had time to do so, because I like to really drench myself with and artist’s work when I get into them, and now I’m definitely excited to hear what they have to offer. And so far I do see the similarities between them and Queen which gets me more anxious.

katys not a bad performer. if you watch her smaller shows like the mtv unplugged, shes actually pretty good. especially when she plays her acoustic guitar on songs like thinking of you. for some reason she cant really do big stages, although her vh1 divas & jingle ball performances werent that bad

It was plain though, but I think that’s because she wanted everyone to focus solely on the message, nothing else. That’s why she stripped away all the gimmicks, and I think this shows she doesn’t NEED that shock factor. Just deliver musically Gaga, keep it up.

Yes, I’ve seen what Katy is capable of. Which is why I am puzzled as to why I don’t see that side of her when she performs on TV. She sounds so much better with stripped down songs, and that normally wouldn’t be the case for someone who can’t sing.

Yeah, I definantly think she made the right decision. I loved that she played the piano to and her vocals were great. I LOVED Muse’s performance to, by the way. I gotta say this though, their Grammy speech was a mess! Lol, I don’t think they know the value of a Grammy. JANELLE, B.O.B & BRUNO MARS are the new trinity! They ripped that stage apart and showed that all three of them are multi-talented. God, it was a great performance. Bruno was a little pitchy at times but still, great! To be honest, I’m shocked they won. I don’t place much of a value on the Grammys (or any award shows, for that matter), but I’m glad that they were recognized. They’re always awkward with acceptance speeches, lol.
And I LOVE Bruno, B.O.B. and Janelle’s performance as well! They were among the highlights of the night! Cee-Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow were great, too. Arcade Fire went out with a bang as well.

I don’t know, I just hold Grammys up there as a HUGE honor. I mean there’s people out there who just strive for a Grammy. My favorite part of their performance was how they ALL played instruments, and broke off and did their own thing. All 3 of them are so special to me. You can’t put them in a box, they all have this funk, jazz, R&B, hip hop edge to them that’s amazing to me. Cee-Lo looked a f****** mess, but I loved the performance Lol

Oh, yeah I know it’s just a trophy and there’s so many legends who’ve yet to get one. It’s the entire ceremony, the fact that it’s the ONE place all genres collide and everyone is recognized. I think it’s just as big of a deal to perform there as it is to win. I just think of the Grammys as a WHOLE as iconic and prestigious, not neccesarily the trophy.
