Melanie Fiona Honors Chaka Khan At ‘Evening Of Stars’

Published: Tuesday 1st Feb 2011 by Trent

Melanie Fiona appeared on the ‘ UNCF Evening of Stars Tribute to Chaka Khan’ which recently aired on both ABC and BET. The powerhouse singer delivered a rendition of the diva’s classic song ‘You Got The Love’. Watch the footage below via Melanie Fiona World:

As always Fiona was phenomenal. Perhaps what was most impressive about this performance was that she paid tribute to Chaka in her own way without trying to emulate every note of the original composition. Great stuff!

Melanie just lacks even the slightest “it” factor – she strikes me as a backing singer, or a member of a girl band. She does have a good voice though.

That what she was an backup singer, and in an girl band before she got her head hype up by wetback csi actor and he told her dumb ass that she can sing,if you notice in interviews she repeatly says people doubted her so called talent, her only talent is of an good d*** sucker, well lying to her black male fans about being involved with A.R. who when jamie foxx asked her pretended she didn,t know who A.R. was, lied and said alex rodriquez who never dated an black women in is life.

I’m not interested in her at all…neither is anyone else I encounter. She can sing but her voice has no “colors”….she is a beige note. ::shrug::

She was flat at times, but she has a great voice! I like how Melanie is so passionate about her craft and articulate when she speaks. The only reason why people don’t care about her is because she’s not selling her ass. You guys are ridiculous, I swear. Melanie can be a big star making urban music if she was promoted right. I don’t know what’s with these urban R&B musicians now-a-days. Back in the day, Brandy, Monica, SWV, TLC, Brian McKnight, Dru Hill were all selling millions and millions worldwide with every one of their albums and had great promotion and management. Why can’t real R&B singers of today find the right people?
