It’s official: Christina Aguilera has signed on to be a judge on NBC’s new talent show, ‘The Voice’. The powerhouse singer, who is currently experiencing several personal and professional woes, will join Marron 5’s Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green on the panel of the show which is set to air on April 26th.
This news ends any speculation that Aguilera will serve as a judge on ‘The X-Factor’ US which launches later this year. See what Aguilera has to say about her new role below:
“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Aguilera said in a statement. “To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms.mI am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice.” {Source}
Hopefully, Aguilera will manage to keep her notoriously demanding ego in check while filming. Furthermore, although the show will need it’s own villain to match the direct (and often harsh) criticism of Simon Cowell, it would be in her best interest to be as pleasant as possible in an effort to rebuild her public image. Once she remains sober of course.
