How would anyone know if people are more entertained by Ciara or Rihanna. I like Ciara because she’s a natural performer like Beyonce, Usher, Chris Brown, MJ, Janet, Prince and Tina. When they hit that stage there gonna look all nice and glammed up, but when they leave they’re gonna be all sweaty and tired because they worked their asses off for their fans. Rihanna is a visual performer just like Gaga and Britney, they have to have stage props, light effects and pyrotechnics in there shows because without they’ll look like some damn stick figures when they perform. Rihanna always sings out of tune, she can’t perform, and no, dancing does not always equal an performance, since that’s all Rihanna fans can say Ciara does. Ciara interacts with the crowd, she knows how to keep them hyped and enthused, dancing and singing is just another part of performing. I’ve seen Rihanna live and I was disappointed, she wasn’t bad, but she wasn’t good, I’d give the concert a 6.5/10. Her vocals were okay and her choreo, if I can call it that was aight, but nothing special. The only thing I really found interesting and I’m not throwing shade, was Rihanna’s outfits, because she changed like 5 times and the special effects were really good.

Wow, I’m not sure how or why Rihanna’s name is being mentioned here but stop the madness! Rihanna couldn’t touch Ciara’s with a stick or a pole! Her CD may not have sold as much as she would have liked but when you are fighting with your record label it happens! Regardless, I have never heard of anyone ever attending one of Cici’s shows and complaining about her inability to perform as I have both heard and witnessed (see 2011 Allstar Half-time show or 2011 CMA’s) in regards to Rihanna!! Her dancing isn’t the problem. Her music is. For whatever reason Ciara either couldn’t or wasn’t allowed to evolve past her signiture urban/ crunk sound. Often times black singers are put in boxes and aren’t allowed to branch out, but at the same time I didn’t think that FR was that great, in comparison to her first two albums which I loved (Goodies) and liked (Evolution). (I gave my FR copy to Good Will) This is where Rihanna differs from Ciara and her peers. Rihanna started out doing what most black singers do, which is urban/r&b, but then she switched it up and everyone loved it (but then again, GGGB was really good and the first Rihanna album I ever bought). Ciara switched it up, and everyone hated it, and now that she’s trying to revert, she can’t get that old thing back.

Rihanna and Ciara are both completely different artists with completely different styles. Rihanna is mostly Pop and Ciara is mostly Hip-hop/R&B. It’s two different markets. Rihanna, of course, appeals to the better market. She also has the better label, PR, producers/writers, etc. Resulting in WAY better music than Ciara, also resulting in a FAR better career. Ciara’s market is well, ya know…….Her label is wack, her producers/writers aren’t near as elite as Rihanna’s, resulting in subpar music. She started out in Crunk/R&B which died faster than it started and clearly her career later followed. Of course, Ciara is the better dancer/performer, but do you buy her albums to watch her dance? Um, no. It’s the MUSIC the consumer buys, not her dancing. Whereas, Rihanna, who lacks IMMENSELY in the dancing/performing department, has better MUSIC and that’s what people buy. Not to mention, her music appeals to a much broader audience. Let’s not even compare voices, because NEITHER of them can sing, although I do prefer Rihanna’s studio voice over Ciara’s. Overall, I like some things about both of them. I like Ciara’s dancing and some of her music (pre-FR) and I like Rihanna’s music and fashion.
