A new album from Lauryn Hill may not be a good idea after all. The singer delivered yet another disappointing performance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California yesterday, struggling to sing her classic material which she distorted with new arrangements.

I can’t believe you idiots really are disrespecting Ms. Hill like that??? First of all ya’ll don’t know s*** about music!!! She has not lost, fell behind, stumbled, messed up anything. She has amazing control and range in not only her voice but also the crowd control and controlling the band at the same time. If you aren’t satisfied with her stage performance because she didn’t sing the songs exactly like it was recorded because WE all have already heard her sing them in that perfect cookie cutter way it was presented on the CD and at many other concerts over the years and years and yearsss. As a true artist, she can express her OWN music through new interpretations as she has in her recreation of her classic masterpieces on stage as much as she like when ever she feels its right. And if you are a true Lauryn Hill fan you would respect and appreciate her for the incredible icon that she is. They come like her no more. PLease give her, her due respect! Peace.

OK, people need to check out the full LIVE performance (yes live NOT studio) before passing judgement. I stayed awake to watch this live on youtube and I enjoyed every minute of it. Ms Lauryn Hill was and still is on the top of her game, she doesn’t need approval from those who consider the crap from Minaj, GaGa etc. as revolutionary music!

Some people just refuse to give up the ghost. This ain’t 1998 and Lauryn ain’t what she used to be. I don’t give a f*** how much the Fugees were beloved 15 years ago, or how impactful that ONE solo album she did once. None of that washes away the fact that she’s become a train wreck on and off stage and that her days as a viable star are over. I can’t stand complacent fan who’re so stuck in the past that they refuse to give up the image the star had when they were at their prime — despite it being nothing like how things are today. Move the hell on.
You guys are idiots. She’s made her mistakes, and like she said, it takes time getting back into the habit. This performance was good, she arrived on time!! And she has apologized for her behavior. She is making her way to the right track again. You don’t have to like her, but you will be missing out once she releases another album!

I saw a the video of her performing at Coachella and she is still amazing. Her voice was not perfect, but who performing live in Coachella will be? She had energy and once you figured out how the song was going to be performed, I had fun dancing around with it.
I’m going to see her Monday in LA and feel lucky to see her perform.
