Jessie J’s ‘Who You Are’ Goes Platinum

Published: Monday 4th Apr 2011 by Trent

Congratulations are definitely in order for Jessie J! The songbird’s debut album, ‘Who You Are’, has been certified platinum in the UK, barely a month after its February 28th release date.

Preceded by the smash hit singles ‘Do It Like A Dude’and ‘Price Tag (Ft. B.oB.)’, the record was actually pulled up from its original March 28th due date because of high demand from her fans. US consumers can expect to receive the album on April 12th. Go Jessie J!

  6. Judge & Jury April 4, 2011

Dont forget, no one really cares in the US! It’s already leaked anyway… who’s gonna buy that s*** here. Exactly, no one.

Trent where id you hear that because i just went to the BPI database and it’s still listed as Gold, maybe it sold platinum but hasn’t been certified yet. I wouldn’t be supprised, she did sell 105,000 first week here.

@Juanr, and? it’s proportional so 300k is about the same as selling 1m in the US which has a higher population, you mad? hmmm

    Flopped!
This girl is a big joke and no one is checking on her.

  13. Nuova April 4, 2011

Standards aren’t so low in the US.

  14. Perrylicious April 4, 2011

Most of her singles failed in U.S! So i guess ‘flopped’ would be the word.

    Flop

    Flop

I loooove her cd. She can honestly sing. You can say what you want about her, but she deserves this. If she doesn’t do well in the U.S its only because they like all that auto-tune crap.

All these people talking about you don’t like her and she needs to find herself. Child please. Beyonce used all the b****** in her group to get to the top. She dogged out her family. Now you all should talking about that b**** and not Jesse J.

Werk! I’m so proud of her. Hope she enjoys success here too. & if not at leas she got it in her home territory. Nobody cares about the US because a lot of people over here like that flop auto-tune crap on artist who aren’t talented & can’t perform. Real talent is over-looked here a lot.

  18. Scott April 4, 2011

Really like Jessie but her album is weak, they rushed the realease she is far more talented than her debut.

Congrats jessie j, I’m assuming this is good for a new artist. I personally think her live performances are FAR superior to anything she has recorded . I will be getting her album because I want to ” encourage” labels to keep finding and marketing talented folk like her.
