Britney Spears takes it underground in the video for her latest single ‘Till The World Ends’. Check out the post-apocalyptic themed clip, which premiered minutes ago, below…
Expectedly, all the stops were pulled out to ensure Spears looked and moved like the star we’ve known and loved for more than a decade. And to some extent, the smoke and mirrors served their purpose well. The video, with its schizophrenic cuts and edits, really captures the busy, high-octane nature of the track.
Yet, for all the bells and whistles, it was impossible to disguise the fact that Britney just wasn’t ‘there’. While every other component of the clip made their presence felt (see: dancers, special effects, etc), it became quickly apparent that Spears and the spark that once defined her ability were both noticeably absent.
Dead in the eyes and dead on the dancefloor, the video – as slick as it is – was still almost tragic to watch. Yes, she’s trying. Yet, in an era where Beyonce, Lady GaGa, and even a 44 year old Janet Jackson, are outperforming Spears, sometimes trying simply isn’t enough.
Still, I’m sure the stans will eat it up. For, dwindling sales or otherwise, Britney could still pee in a CD case and plausibly go Platinum. Sad, but true. In any case…

first of all – i am not one of the britney “stans” everyone seems to be singling out above.
i think the video was gd, the effects where there, the story was there and the dancing was acceptable – from most who took part.
britney on the other hand, was not in anyway present through-out the video. i dont think its an addiction to “meds” or even that she doesnt have the ability, i think shes just not interested in music anymore. after the very public meltdown, any promotion has been narrowed down to walking about a stage and a very occasional head-spin – who can blame her?
she’s never had much of a voice but the songs she’s brought out post-breakdown have had none what so ever. most of the backing vocals are song by session/differnt singer (see: piece of me – robyn sung all background vocals, break the ice – all where done by keri hilson, but to name a few) while she’s not the best singer, ad-libbing adds some presence to a record and i think most of her new works are missing this!
if she doesnt want to do this anymore, she should give up. yeh ok she might be doing it for her fans but all shes doing is damaging a very good reputation

This is a good video, but again, I don’t like all the quick editing of her dance breaks. Just when I got a little excited about her dancing, the next scene flashed.

She’s back stronger than ever. I’m gonna rate 4.5 / 5 for this video. It’s more fantastic if the ending showing ‘ Britney walking along the street with that epic-red-dress’. 🙂

This is def a Solid Video for Britney I only wished she released this at the beginning of the last week as it would’ve possibly helped boost her album sales even more. Though her live performances are still Trash and HIAM was an underwhelming video give credit where it’s due and that would be this video. Kudos!

This time around the problem in the video isn’t Britney. A thick round of rehearsals & months to prepare , has made Britney a little edgier. Her eyes look less dead & her moves are well edited this go around. The problem here is the fact that this video makes the suggestion of what we should do come the end of the world, even less ominous than the songs title. Instead, it is down right Blatant! The video opens with “December 21st, 2012″ on the screen. This is , feeding into the much misinterpreted myth brought to us by the Mayan calendar, of the end of one civilazation & the beginning of another. (Not the end of the world) In the last 3 years there have been a slue of movies, tv shows , & even songs that have fed into this exact plot line.
