It’s been almost two years since the Sugababes released new material. Yet -in a bid to reclaim chart glory – the ladies are back. Well at least the remnants of them…
Indeed, after unceremoniously ousting founding member Keisha Buchanan in 2009, the group has been anchored by Amelle Berrabah, Heidi Range and Jade Ewen. Hoping to make a bigger impact than their dismal selling ‘Sweet 7’ LP, the latest line-up serve up new single ‘Freedom’.
Set to premiere any day now, the ’empowering’ number surfaced in snippet form via Nokia a moments ago.

We’ll hold judgement until hearing the song in its entirety. Though, I will say, I generally enjoy Jade’s runs, ad-libbing and belts. Whether they’ll sit well in such a song, however, remains to be seen.

Sounds great. I really hope they can regain some lost fans and maintain the ones they have. this album NEEDS TO SLAY! Plus, jade sounds AMAZING on this and hope the video is AMAZING!!!

It may have more to do with the creepy dolls, but I didn’t really enjoy it. Jade seemed to be doing too much in the copy and pasting of that clip… or maybe she kicked out the other two girls. ‘WHO RUN THIS MUTHA?” Jade.
Hmmm… infectious beat. Could be a chart win. A nice snippet. They need major promotion however, and need to get in there!

I cannot wait !! There last album was absolutely amazing. Anyone who actually took the time to listen to it would have loved it. Even though it didn’t do as well as their previous albums, People seem to forget that all 3 singles from the album were top 10’s.

I took the time to listen to sweet 7 and although lisernable it was generic and void of the sugababes sound.
Although this song has the sugababes sound it also sounds dated and to be honest i don’t really care for them as they all now have nothing distinct about them. Jade can sing but her tone doesn’t stand out as a singer
Sweet 7 was an amazing album. The only reason it tanked so badly was due to all the controversy and sacking of Keisha. I’m still a fan of theirs, and the clip of ‘Freedom’ sounds like a winner. I can’t wait to hear it in full, as well as their new album coming soon.

Dose the song sound like a sugababes song? Or a song that could be sung by any other girl group like if the Saturdays were singing this song would you notice the differents. What stands out about this song? It’s all good having a hit but how many song do you remember that are top 10 hits. I like the sugababes because they were different & distinctive now they are a forgettable. Jade is a good singer, Amelie & heidi should change the name of the group.

This song sounds like an anthem. The babes seem primed to notch the top spot once again! Jade’s voice is absolutely fantastic; as are Amelle’s and Heidi’s.
It’s such a shame that Sweet 7 failed to sell much on the charts but all three singles were TOP 10, so it wasn’t a complete disaster. Looking forward to more.

seriously these girls should change their name, everyone would go easy on them, if they did, this is not the Sugababes these kind of songs are spitting on their legacy, it’s annoying, known of the girls are the original members so just change the name already and let the rest of us have piece of mind and enjoy the memory of the original and distinctive group we grew up with and loved
The girls looks great in this photo and Heidi looks 5 years younger! as for the ad, the song sounds like a future hit and freedom could be their key to another number 1! !
I really like what I have heard so far, there is really no point everyone going on about Keisha, there is really nothing that can be done about it and we don’t know what she was getting up to, to get the sack.

I love this song its funny how people are commenting on the group not the song! This is gonna be number one so get used to hearing it. There is no way anyone can hear this and put their hand on heart and not say its at least good.

Just because they’re not making 100 number ones a year and that they’re not mainstream anymore dosen’t mean they should disband. Why don’t you guys go and support Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena rather than wait for Keisha and moan about how she was kicked out.
I hope that old Sugababes fans like the new album despite all the drama that has been happening; I believe that the group still has potential and hopefully they will WOW us as they did in the past.
Jade needs to ditch the two back stabbers and go solo. She could be the next Adel, Jessie J or Alexandra Burke!
LOL – at all the idiots who think Jade will do well solo, she released a solo single, which tanked, she may have the voice but her songs were sh!t, solo she had a #27and #35 hmm, with the babes she had 3 x top 10 I think she knows where her bread is buttered… This songs sounds good so far, I think this could be the single which gets the noticed again as a band that can sing and have edgy songs. As for all the people going on about Keisha, I have been a fan since 2000 when overload came out, Siobhan isn’t god’s gift to music, I bought both her solo albums which were great , but they are definitely not similar to the sugababes sound – Sugababes are known for their evolution of their sound and image, so I for one can’t wait for the new album, which will hopefully be better than the good – yet forgettable sweet 7.
Also to the moaners going on about Keisha, where is she? she’s been gone since 2009 still no debut single? If she leaves it any longer no one will care about her, I’m glad she was ousted if it would have meant that Amelle and Heidi both quit – people seem to not realise that Heidi and Amelle had left the band for a reason, and I bet she walzed around like her sh!t didn’t stink because she was the only original member, glad she was taken down a peg or two!
