In typical GaGa fashion, the clip boasts all the visual gloss, choreography, and eccentricities which have made her videos so engaging. What’s more, after the atrocity that was ‘Born This Way’, the 25 year old has delivered with this a solid attempt at living up the epic billing which oft precedes her video offerings.
Yet, to its detriment, it remains these very attempts of evoking ‘epic’ which somewhat work against the clip. For, as with ‘Alejandro’, what tries to be ‘grand’ instead becomes confusing. Yes, the Biblical references are apparent. However, in one too many instances, the premise of what we were watching read simply as ‘???’
Still, in an era where even major acts are serving up recession-specials, GaGa should be celebrated. Especially for her better efforts, such as this.

I will say this is MUCH better than the other Laurie Ann debacle of a video, Keri Hilson’s “The way you love me”. This Judas video was ok though, maybe if the song was better the video would have had more impact for me. Her imagery is always pretty striking and I generally got the idea of the video after watching it once. She’s having another big premiere of this on E television ( i think thats the channel, maybe its MTV…IDK) so as far as garnering attention, I guess she wins.

I liked it, I was expecting more though given all the hype and supposed controversy. There were some stricking images such as when she is being washed away by the waves or when she is being stoned, it’s a nice video but I still think “Bad Romance” and “Alejandro” are her best videos.
“Judas” looks like her first few videos that were simpler and cheaper, I don’t see the 10,000,000 they spent…at all.

Her album has been so hyped up by those who have worked with her and those who are promoting her that we are expecting really groundbreaking music however this is simply not the case. For all she is doing is serving up mediocre tracks that sit well within the music charts of todays market. In fact Ke$ha is serving up better and more catchy songs at the moment.
Lada Gaga has always worked off of hype and thats what has got her her fame and fortune thus far. First it was the hype surrounding her out fits and crazy stage s*** and now its hype surrounding her forthcoming music. But what is happening now is that people are starting to get bored of her outrageous outfits and are immune to her “artistic expression” as we have become to expect it. We are now starting to see the artist for what she really is and judging her by her music rather than her clothes and we have come to the realisation that her music just isn’t that great. Its ok but not GREAT as we have been lead to believe.

People refuse to see past Gaga’s gimmick. She is definitely talented, but she let’s her ego exceed her talent. Why does she try so hard to force overly done symbolic messages to the fans? She truly overdoes it in a way that detaches her music with her supposedly landmark, iconic visuals. I respect Gaga’s eccentricity. It brings a good energy to the industry. However, she needs to let her music speak for her sometimes. Simplicity is best at moments. Every artists thinks they need to outdo their last work, which is good for motivation, but it becomes obvious after a while. Judas does not compare to Bad Romance or Love Game. The storylines were not filled or loaded with complex metaphors and rushed choreography. Beyonce…When Single Ladies came out, she simply danced in front of black and white shaded lights, and it became a sensation, showing gimmicks and creativity is not always needed.
Sigh, I actually yawned so many times watching this video. Didn’t have as much impact as Like a Prayer if she was gunning for religious controversy.
This is what happens when an artists thinks too seriously of her work and removes the fun out of it. It’s all contrived & pretentious.
