While I am not a fan of Chris Brown and his prepubescent sounding voice…as well as his diva tantrums, I have yet to hear a meaningful song out of Derulo’s musical catalog (as compared to some mature songs from Brown)…but I guess that I am not exactly his target market so it doesn’t really matter.
Coreography is good. He definitely gets exhausted trying to sing while dancing. He needs to keep practicing and I reckon he should start promoting It Girl now.

Damn my nicca did good job . Once again why is it so hard for people to believe Jason is SINGING and dancing at the same time. Again his voice sounded shaky and he skipped over the words but those are live vocals with a backing track .

that s*** WAS on! this mother f***** can DELIVER a performance! sing and dance simultaneously! yes, there were minor backing vocals present but 98% of that was him.
furthermore, the parts where he let the backing vocals come forefront were obvious as it was where he was prepping for an ad-lib or CLEARLY catching his breath. at no point was he “miming” to portray the illusion that he was singing.

The choreo was good, but not mindblowing.A good showing, but it got REALLY boring at some point and the crowd was…dead!Btw, it kind of annoys me that he is getting all that promo while other FAR more talented acts cannot even book a chat show!The labels always choose to launch the less gifted acts.

Y’all really hate this guy huh? I don’t see why he and Chris Brown are compared to each other. Jason mostly caters to a white audience and doesn’t even try to tap into the s** song market like Chris Brown does (“Wet the Bed”… “No BS”). He seems like a really good option for that younger demographic, so why all the hate? By the way, it seems really obvious that he was singing live with a backing track. The spaces in the bridge, etc gave that away, so that “turn his mic on” comment was uncalled for, especially when people like Ciara and Chris Brown, both great entertainers, don’t sing all the way live when they do all out dance routines. Jason’s kinda corny but he’s fine for what he is.

I didnt even know that award show was on . I really can’t tell if he was really singing but if he was there were plenty of times that his backing track was turned all the way up. You can’t sing and do a handstand it’s just impossible and some other moves he did would be impossible without some difference in his voice and there were really none. But i think he only chimed in occasionally anyway.
I think people say he’s stiff because he doesnt bend his knees but he is a good dancer. It seems like hes shooting at the wrong audience, the T*** Choice audience is probably really young and I think he should shoot for a little older. I remember the chorus to in

Ok I gotta be honest even tho jason is cute and can sing and dance and has the whole package, his sound and music sounds rly generic. I think for the most part he is okay. No where near legendary status but he is doing good in an era like this where ppl like to hear b******* songs but on the otherhand, he can sing. I’ve heard him acapella. It took a while for rihanna to stand out and ppl to get use to her sound. He had his own trademark “jason derulloooo” but he rly needs to start amazing me with his music. So far everything he’s done is just okay. Few songs I did like by him were watcha say, in my head, and solo. I love his pop sound cuz I love pop music!
