Miami dance machine Jason Derulo releases the 5th installment of his Vlog sessions prepping fans for ‘Future History‘ – his soon to be released sophomore set on Warner Bros. Records (September 27). Per request, the session sees Derulo lend fans a stripped down version of his hit ‘Ridin’ Solo’. And by ‘solo’, he probably meant ‘with autotune on mute’.
How did Derulo do with a lack of backing track? You be the judge after the jump:
While the riffs and runs should just slow down, this was an otherwise fairly solid showing from Derulo (whom we think would probably sound so much better if he’d stop trying so hard and just sing). It seems as if word of his earlier, less aurally pleasing performances got back to him and now he is on a quest to prove he can sing. And, like most, in the process he ends up sounding bad in a whole new way.
Here’s hoping the singer finds the happy medium in vocals between murder and miming (aka overdone and not done at all).
OH MY GOD !!! His voice is just amazing here !!! Did yall hear that clear tone and crisp vocal in the beginning. My Fav got vocals . Anybody that says different take several seats.
Sam is so mad. He can never completely give credit where it’s dude. Jason can sing, & Even though @ times he really does RUN, that’s his thing. There was no issue w/ this acoustic at all. He SLAYED, point, blank, period :). “Future History” September 27th!

Yes he can, and UNLIKE Jason, Chris actually have the Grammy nods to back it up.
Majority of the CB haters don’t even like Jason they just use him to dog CB! The fact of the matter is Chris has already been praised for his vocal abilities and awarded with numerous award, given the opportunity to perform at prestigious award ceremonies such as the Grammy’s and has numerous platinum plaques to his name.
No shade to Derulo though, he can keep doing his thing, in Breezy’s shaddow……

Chris Brown is good artist with good voice but Jason Derulo sounds better, He has a sweet, pure voice a way better than Chris Brown.
As a singer I really don’t wanna bust his bubble (expose his tricks and therfore not being able to carry the song ’till the very end) …he did ok but you need work vocally…then again we ALL knew that anyway…love your singles tho:)

This is the best performance I’ve ever heard of this song and you know what? He sounds damn good. He needs to learn control and he needs to practice it.
That pic of him is hot!! He was great…I loved this performance. I wish he would not do as much dancing and focus a lot more on the singing.
