After telling potential suitors she wanted no ‘Kele Kele’ love, feisty Naija stunner Tiwa Savage is back with latest effort ‘Without My Heart’.
Produced by Oak (Nicki Minaj’s ‘Your Love’), the track features rapper Don Jazzy. Does it measure up to the brilliance of ‘Kele’ or its solid follow-up ‘Love Me’? Find out after the jump…
While we’re still awaiting another “proper” Afro-banger (which could really rock the West) ala ‘Kele’, this is yet another commendable effort. The hook and pre-hook go hard, with the track’s sole fault being the wholly unnecessary feature. Jazzy sounded phoned-in and not dissimilar to someone’s Uncle Ola.
Still it’s a given Ms. Savage will slay in the video. And more than anything, it’s just refreshing to have in Tiwa an act who finally fuses Afro-Beats with the sound of the West in a wholly sellable way. Work!
