After a murky period of uncertainty, things are finally on the up for soulful songbird Melanie Fiona.
The new Grammy winner is gearing up for the release sophomore set ‘The MF Life’ this March. And so as to give the album an added boost, Fiona follows up its lead single ‘4am’ with the B.O.B assisted ‘Change The Record’.
Take a listen after the jump…
Home-run!
A potent potion of vocals, grit, and “radio-ready”, ‘Record’ will appeal to Fiona’s longtime supporters, while inviting a new audience aboard her cause. Criminally underrated, material has never been her “problem” per se. Rather, it was how palatable those songs were to the mainstream listener. All of that changes with this cut, one which thankfully doesn’t dilute the quality that made her standout from the pack when arrived on the scene two years ago.
‘The MF Life’ hits stores on March 20th.

YES! Amazing! I had listened to the unfinished version a few months ago, but this sounds so brilliant and uplifting. It combines r n’b, soul and pop so well!! I hope radio programmers show this track the love it deserves. Can’t wait for the album 🙂
