Since news first broke of the reunion of R&B beauties Brandy and Monica, fans have been in a frenzy with wishes of live performances of the new cut. At its introduction, ‘The Boy Is Mine’ sequel ‘It All Belongs To Me’ gained instant approval from both diva’s devoted fans.

She builds through out the song and gives it so much character and so many layers. She’s so creative and clever in her singing. Brandy makes this song for me! She’s a beast!!!!!! I have been watching for this for a long time! I am so happy I finally to the chance to witness this awesome live performance from them. I’ve been a hardcore Brandy fan since FOREVER! This song is brilliant and this performance is awesome! Brandy’s deep vocals are so full and moving, and her runs are effortless and dynamic. Thumbs up ladies!

Both ladies complemented one another. I love Brandy’s husky tone and lower register as well as Monica’s belting and runs toward the end. Both ladies looked great, especially Brandy. I’m glad to see them push forward after losing their idol this past week. Kudos to both you ladies!
I think for a first performance, the ladies did well. I would like to see them do the following:
Brandy – work on her lower register live. I think she did ok, but it started off a bit off. However, once she got into it, she was GREAT!!!!!
Monica- Beautiful Beautiful Job. Amazing vocal with those notes at the end of the song. Begin to dress in a fashion that does more to compliment the person you are doing the duet with.
I think BOTH ladies did a great job. Now, they need to do it a few more times to really add the “IT FACTOR” to the performance.

This was the moment that I was waiting for and I will have to say that the ladies didn’t disappoint. Brandy began the song a little shaky in her lower register but once she got into it she went innnnnnnnnnn! The girl is a vocal beast!! I give her major props… Now on to Monica, she kilt it. Monica knows her strength and she knows that she’s an edgy singer who can kill an live performance. From the beginning of her verse to that amazing note at the end she delivered. People saying she was pitchy must be tone death b/c she gave everything and that note at the end…amazing…even Brandy had to give her props. I must give it to Monica she delivers everytime!!

So i just want to comment on the people discussing the production and the lyrics.
Productionwise: I like it because its not over done. I like that they decided to so something that didnt even sound close to the Boy is Mine. When you have two big voices like Brand and Mo’s you need a simpler production so those vocals can shine otherwise it will sound like to much is going on.
Lyrics: Okay people we are living in 2012 not 1842. Realistically they are speaking of thinks that a typical adult in today’s society encounters. I know 50 year old people with a facebook and a macbook. If anything it dates the song which isnt a bad thing at all. IE. Bug a boo “throw my pager out the window, tell MCI to cut the phone post”.
So in both respects to production and lyrics stop over thinking it because i honestly dont think they did. They just wanted to sing a song together. Everythihg isnt about trying to be epic. ya kno!!! Sidenote: a lot of the hype of the boy is mine is that a that time they were both pretty hot artist and also people thought they hated each other. People looooove drama and there is no drama this time so people of course have something to say…okay im done.
For both to be veterans neither slayed on this. Both had a hard time handling the low notes and failed at trying to redeem themselves when they opened up. They sounded like beginners but then again Brandy always had a hard time performing live. I’m a little shocked at Monica but then again she didn’t sound comfortable on the record either. Seems like more of a Brandy record than a Monica record and I agree they could’ve came harder than this. Interesting beat but that’s it. The lyrics failed to pick up where the boy is mine left off.

Nope brandy’s high and low registars are both controlled and smooth. Again, monica is good too but brandy’s vocal tone and riffs are mutli-layered and gorgeous and way more impressive to me.
Monica has more parts in this song that’s why she was killing the performance. Brandy obviously was letting her sing more in this song after 14 years since brandy SLAYED in the boy is mine.
I agree that Monica is the (much) better singer. That low, bassy thing Brandy did at the top of the song wasn’t hot. Half the time she mumbles and that’s never good.
Monica’s vocals are clearer and much more steady than Brandy’s. That makes her the better singer.

Monica was good…she just goes for it, and you have to give her credit for that…Her last note was a bit dramatic…also, she was off key on her higher notes, she really seemed to be struggling up there…it’s like she went sharp and flat on two of those high notes…She needs to work on that a bit more.
Brandy missed one of the BEST runs in the song towards the end…I hope she doesn’t forget to do it next time…Anyways, I’ll give them a pass since it was the first performance….
