Cher Lloyd Announces Debut US Single; Shoots Video

Published: Saturday 24th Mar 2012 by Sam

Look out USA! Another Brit is heading your way!

Cue Cher Lloyd.

The X Factor UK star, who recently signed a Stateside deal with LA Reid‘s Epic Records is gearing up for her official US launch, selecting current British single ‘Want U Back’ as her first American offering.

Initially featuring X Factor USA’s Astro, the revised version of the track now sees Lloyd fly solo and also boast an all-new video.

Peep snaps from the US video, as well as te orignal video below…

Granted we’re pleased Astro was yanked off the song (he added approximately nothing), we’d have much preferred she released this…

In any case, check out Cher performing the track on That Grape Juice’s The Splash and the first video below….

Are you amped for Cher Lloyd’s US debut?

Randomness: With X Factor UK alumni One Direction, Cher Lloyd, and Leona all being given the American treatment, we’re gonna need the powers that be to pick up the pace and step on it with Alexandra Burke‘s Stateside arrival. Long overdue.

America wont take to her like at all, the UK is still finding it hard to accept her

If she plays her cards right, she could be big.
Didn’t like her first album or singles!

Her album is quite good and she is pretty versatile as a artist once she’s molded correctly….she has a few songs on the album once promoted correctly she can make it make big in the states! I wasn’t a fan of her and figured she wasn’t talented until I heard the actual album…she has a cute voice and she can sing so let’s see how this turns out…on a another note was her album certified in the UK?

I kinda like her now. Not sure about Want U Back though. The lyrics, theme, melody, and production…just none of it does anything for me.

Tsk! Another talentless chick on the grind. She will do well in America because Slimon will make it happen. The album was rubbish and the singing sub par, but much better than hearing her live. Pop trash is what’s selling now so I’m sure she’ll do well.

i dont see her making it big in the us! she can do amazing in the uk but the us wont take yo her like the uk! i am still waiting for liona lewis to drop love birds and her album she needs to hurry up!

  11. Steph March 24, 2012

She’s not even big in the UK, so I don’t see how she can crack America when she can’t even make a dent on her own home turf.

  12. Man-TAK-eee March 24, 2012

She’s worse than cheryl cole and has a shoter half-life in america than cheryl. Recall how long she stayed on xfactorUS before the kick back across the pond… Oh, about 3 weeks?? NEXT!!

    ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

With UR Love is the only decent single she has put out so far, Want You Back is a horrible song and the little rapper kid does it no favours. Can she crack America? I doubt it, but then again they are a little short on good taste over there…

Loved Cher since i can remember and shes just getting better and better.. This version is far better without Astro, and I can also announce on Cher’s behalf she has recently recorded yet another version of this song featuring rap heavyweight Snoop Dogg! I cant wait for you all to hear it xox
