The Queen Bee Lil Kim took to the stage on tonight’s showing of BET’s annual fashion revue ‘Rip The Runway’. The Selita Banks & Pooch Hall-hosted affair also saw crooners Robin Thicke and Jeremih on the night’s bill (as was B.O.B, Wale, and more).
However, it was certainly the ‘How Many Licks’ hitmaker who was the talk of the night.

Now that, my friends, was a hot steaming poo poo platter. Giving credit where it is due, the crowd was rocking! Certainly feeling the Queen Bee, very receptive of her old school hits. And though having its noteworthy moments, overall, that performance was by no means representative of a veteran – somebody who’s been “running the female rap game” for nearly 20 years now.
Well give it to her, A+ for effort. But if she’s trying to silence critics, she’s gonna have to come harder than this…(or bring her ventilator or inhaler on stage next time).

This was a very s***** performance. She wasn’t even singing/rapping. She was only yelling. The crowd gets hype when anyone performs. Ya’ll had me afraid to watch the video of Kims performance for days. I finally watched it, and I don’t see what was so terrible about it. I enjoyed it.
Ok I had to watch the performance twice before I decided to make a comment! I think Kim did alright! She looked the BEST I have seen her in years! She hasn’t performed in a long while on a televised event this major in awhile…..Her microphone was on and she was working the stage like a pro! People are so used to the lip synching they can’t appreciate when someone tries to step away from that. With that being said…I don’t like the new song but she did represent for the true hip hop fans.
Some of these comments are hilarious. Bottom line is if you were a Kim fan when you were coming of age you will always love her. Seems you cant talk about Kim these days unless you reference Nikki Minaj. i am 42 years old, actually Kim is only 38. When Nikki first came out it was obvious that her style was influenced by Kim . Just like with Gaga was influenced by Madonna. However younger people don’t appreciate the original as much as we do because they were not coming of age musically at that time. To us “old timers” these “young guns” don’t have substance and are imitators, but for kids coming of age right now listening to Ga Ga and Nikki they are the s***. So to each his own but a healthy dose of mutual respect seems to be in order. There are a couple of Nikki songs I like, but classic Kim will always be my preference. And as far as this show went….she did alright. I’m just glad she’s still alive and able to perform, unlike Micheal, Whitney, Amy W. (rip)
