Quite literally…FIRE!

TONI SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE DICO BEAT OUT AND MAKE IT A MORE SENSUAL SONG. At the beginning i was like YASSSSSSSS. but then this dance beat just take that thing away. sorry I did not like it TONY. What happen to you. I know you reading this. Please we want you more real and sensual. Forget about these dance beats.

  4. JazThatBoi March 9, 2012

I like it overall… She sounds realllly good. I don’t like the techno break really but thats what ppl like now. This is a solid first single but the second single needs to be a bit more RnB. Dont conform too much boo..

  5. Truth March 9, 2012

    Nice

  6. Tristan March 9, 2012

Great Dance record! Very reminiscent to Dance music during the late 90’s and early 2000’s and of course her rich contralto is what makes the song standout. Good stuff!

  7. Kelis March 9, 2012

Veterans like Toni Braxton making this “dance” stuff now??? Oh, ok…

Toni Braxton, you need more people!! You know your core demographic doesn’t listen to this type of sound and you too old to be trying to hop on trends. Be different, but not whack boo.

*In my men on film voice, HATED IT!!!!*

  10. YOOSONDALOOSE March 9, 2012

  21. pat March 9, 2012

i’m sure she’ll have plenty r and b cuts to get into if that’s what you really want and aren’t just hating…..this is HOT

  22. Sincerely March 9, 2012

This is AMMMMAAAZZZINNNGGG!!! It’s on repeat already!!!!

  23. There is enough place for every artist – Stans stop hating others March 9, 2012

    It’s like a weak Cher song from Cher’s “Believe”-era.

  24. Jayla March 9, 2012

Really h**? this dance s***? your core audience will not support this gay ass s***! bring on some R&B! FAIL!

  25. Os March 9, 2012

KIMBERLY you should ask your fav the samething, and you are knocking her because she is sign to YMCMB..fck off TB is getting with the times keep doing you TB and whoever don’t like it can fall back.

  26. alex March 9, 2012

    i freaking love thiss songg..

  27. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare March 9, 2012

I LOVE the beginning! & then THAT beat starts….no.

I’m so tired of that “sound.” Dance music doesn’t have to be so uninteresting. See Jesse Boykins III’s brilliant “Way of the Wayfarer” for an example.

Toni, you are a Legend. PLEASE don’t do this.

  28. Shanice March 9, 2012

Nope. Sorry Toni. I can’t stand that dance music craze. Call me when you get back to the Toni we all grew to love. I know you can’t get your nose back, but can you at least get the music back?

  29. cocodior3069 March 9, 2012

Actuallt Toni does do dance music. She with Mariah were the only ones who would go and redo their vocals for thier R&B music. This really crossed her to the gays and pop audience. Yall kids are hating, i would pefer better mastering and maybe Calvin Harris to maybe tweak the track up to something even hotter.

  30. cocodior3069 March 9, 2012

sorry for all the spelling errors lmao

  31. zongoboy March 9, 2012

great vocals+great song…..”i think am gonna dance “part gives me soo much life!!!

and for those complaining, its not like the entire album is gonna be dance and up-tempoish….. she is a great musician and she serves music to all kinds of people so u can have several seats while we dance all our troubles away!!!!!wtf!

  32. JohnVidal (RIPWhitney-true great) March 9, 2012

For being a dance song (you know, what´s hot now) is really good. only for Toni´s special vocals it is better than any other generic dance track

  33. tanzmusic13 March 9, 2012

    I Heart This!! Merci Toni!

  34. Marcus March 9, 2012

Why are people comparing this to Rhianna and Katy Perry. Ummm the difference is Toni can actually SING!

  35. why you mad? March 9, 2012

I actually like the second half of the song. I can see this being a hit.

  36. slewis March 9, 2012

I like the beginning. I don’t like the part where the music and the beat gets faster.

  37. fredrick March 9, 2012

This is it Toni…bring it Babes,we are ready for You….!

  38. Matthew Charlery-Smith March 9, 2012

Toni Braxton is a Contralto. Luther Vandross was a Baritone. This song is ok, it’s a bit forgettable. She’ll need to make a mix as good as Frankie Knuckles’ remix of Un-Break My Heart. This is not really the comeback she needs but it’s good to get her name back in the clubs and on the Hot Dance/Club Play Chart.

  39. J A C The Machine March 9, 2012

Toni…. Toni…. i love you, i dont like dance but you can turn anything into yours this s*** is hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. Burst Yur Bubble March 9, 2012

I’m with everybody else that like only the first 30 seconds. I still love Toni though

  41. Geri March 9, 2012

YEP! It’s a HIT! She said it was a dance track, but, I was not expecting this. Ready to play it again. This woman’s voice is always on point. Go, Toni!

  42. Sammi March 9, 2012

Where the hell is the link? There is nothing on my page for a link to click on.

  43. Theman March 9, 2012

This is a great track. Her voice sounds awesome on it. It’s a mixture of r&b/pop…

  44. Malaysia Gipson March 9, 2012

she had me until the beat kicked in

  45. RADEN RATNA KESUMA JOE-YO March 9, 2012

OH TONI! THE GAYS WILL LOVE YOU TO DEATH!!!!
the song is fukin amazing countles replay in my ipod hahaha i can see it will be str8 to #1 Dance in billboard chart and Billboard Hot 100 WOOOOHOOO!!!

  46. Jasmine March 9, 2012

I like it but don’t love it.

  47. VA STAND UP!! March 10, 2012

I like it, her vocals sound amazing! She has really kept her voice in tact over all these years. You can tell she is the type of artist who really maintains her intrument which in this case is her voice. Not many singers out there who are in there 40’s can sound as good as they did 20 years ago.

The beat is a bit annoying to me but I understand why she went the ‘techno’ route. Face it , this dance music has taken over. It’s what’s hot right now and if you want to get a hit its the easy way to go. Its smart to release something that will get people’s attention. It’s not like the lyrics are juvenile and at least there is no autotune. There is nothing wrong with experimenting with different sounds as an aritst it doesn’t mean she has abadoned her roots.

I think it will do well in the clubs and like someone else said before the gays will love this! I can see this being successful on the pop and dance charts but I do hope she will release more traditional r&b records as well.

  48. MsThing485 March 10, 2012

This was terrible and I stopped listening past the first minute. I go back with Toni to the Boomerang soundtrack and am really disappointed that she did this. I want another “Another Sad Love Song” and “You’re Making Me High.” This cliche and forgettable dance/pop mess she churned out is not hot. She’ll continue to lose her audience if she keeps this up.

  49. Not Impressed March 10, 2012

    Thumbs down.

  50. DTG March 10, 2012

Didn’t Toni make an ill-fated attempt to cater to pop audiences with “Make My Heart” from her last album? That flopped.

I don’t know who Toni calls herself trying to appeal to with this crap, but it’s certainly not her long time fans. It’s fine if she wants to do a tacky little dance remix to one of her songs, because those are electives…but her core base doesn’t want to be confronted with this on her album, or as her main single. Your first single sets the tone for the album — at least from a public perspective. If I don’t like dance music, then this will leave a negative first impression that tells me that her album won’t appeal to me. Doesn’t matter if she may have other tracks on it that are more “classic Toni,” I’m already disinterested and not checkin’ for it.

These middle aged artists need to accept certain truths. If you p*** off your core fan base by going too far outside the box, then you will stand to lose them. If you lose your core fans, your career is over. And in the meantime you’re not going to appeal to fools who like Rihanna/Katy/Gaga, because most of them weren’t even born when you were having your first few hits and won’t relate to you no matter how you try to cater to their interests. The most Toni can hope for with this is a dance/club hit. Neither Black radio or Top 40 radio will play it.

Toni needs to follow the example of Mary J. Blige; who has said that people have come at her to try and jump on the pop bandwagon, but she refuses to do anything that isn’t her, or that will snub her long time fans. Just like we don’t want a “Marry the Night” Mary, we don’t want a “Tik Tok” Toni either.

  51. aishaaguilerakeys March 10, 2012

It’s ok. Good luck to her!

  52. UnMutedOne March 10, 2012

Kinda sad. Club/dance music is what washed up diva’s who’re long past their commercial peak resort to because it’s the only genre that will embrace them at this stage of their career. Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, Cher, Yoko Ono, Barbra Streisand, etc., etc. all churn out empty “dance” music these days that’s only played in the clubs. Yeah, “the gays” might embrace it, but no one else will.

  53. Dax March 10, 2012

Totally wack. I don’t know what audience Toni is trying to serve with this, but it ain’t her fans. Remember when Toni was hailed as a ‘new school Anita Baker?’ Anita would never…

  54. DS March 10, 2012

A weak comeback song. Sorry Toni.

  55. Dejae March 10, 2012

Good luck with that one Toni, cause you’re gonna need it.
I’m a long time fan of hers, and I’m not buying it.

  56. bips March 10, 2012

i’m buying it just do u toni and don’t u even loose your sleep over these so-called sorry long time a** fans if they ‘re fans they’ll understand your journey if their don’t their loss i swear sometime they just crackin me …i seems they ‘re all artistical a&r lolu should do this or that if they’re clever why donr they apply their advices to their own life??? i guess this blog will count at least more billioners than forbes magazine!!!

  57. Pop Royalty (Rude Boy) March 10, 2012

    GREAT !

this is how you release a strong lead single !

  58. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare March 10, 2012

& one more thing, can we please stop making the silly assumption that “the gays” will automatically like this song.

All dance music is NOT created equally. & people, gay people included here, know it as well.

This is a fail. See Lalah Hathaway’s “Lose Yourself” as an example of a triumph.

  59. NICK March 10, 2012

    LOVE ME SOME TONI!!!

  60. shion March 10, 2012

Lol u betta preach DTG lol I personally like the song and like someone has said before its one of the better dance songs out there but you hit it out the ball park with that one.

  61. vanderbuilt March 10, 2012

am i the only one who thinks this should be a kelly rowland song? i love toni but Beyonce or Kellly would kill this record i think for Toni she needs something a little more “RB” for her comeback

  62. T March 10, 2012

Its a cool song but if Toni wants to use this sound she really has to get out there and promote and her team has to work hard, I dont see this catching on to her usual audience which is the R&B radio circuit.

  63. michel March 10, 2012

    i love you sucess

  64. Luuzz March 10, 2012

Toni was one of the first rnb divas to make dance remixes. She is a pionieer.
You’re making me high david Morales Remix is still my jam.
    Go Toni !!!

  65. Sir Legacy March 10, 2012

@Zongoboy OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK WHEN THAT LIL “think i wanna dance” and beat dropped b**** gave me all my life!

  66. Psyfo March 13, 2012

I don’t understand u guys u all talking bout toni going back to R&B nd yes I agree thts her genre but let’s face it Yesterday was a great track nd my god Hands tied excellent but nobody really supported it anyway I have to agree I Heart You is a gr8 song nd I think she an fantastic job on it too!!!!!

  67. Kenni March 14, 2012
