Her upcoming tour has reportedly made over $250 million in advance tickets alone, but that hasn’t saved Madonna‘s new album ‘MDNA’ from embarrassment on the Billboard 200.
Yes, after earning the record for the highest second week sales drop in chart history, the LP has suffered yet another sales dip.
Details below…
Now a month since its release, the LP has slipped out of the US Top Ten landing at #29 with a measly 13,765 units sold since last week.
Suffering a sales decline of 28%, the project was outsold by ‘Whitney Houston: The Greatest Hits‘ which moved 13,803 units without the benefit of rejuvenated promo campaign.
In at #38 is Rihanna with ‘Talk That Talk’ with 10,779- 37,000 copies less than Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded‘ which storms in at #6, after spending last week at #3.
Adele‘s ‘21‘ holds court at the above with a whopping 88,742 units and in at #1 or a second week is Lionel Richie with ‘Tuskegee’, shifting a cool 110, 785 copies.
Side note:
Commiserations go to Young Money’s Tyga.
For, in at #48 he is just two spots away from holding the lowest selling album of the week.
A shame, as many believed his ‘Careless World: Rise Of The Last King’ would go some way to match sales of Drake‘s ‘Take Care‘,following its almost airtight campaign.
It sold 8,000 copies.
Sorry about it.
