Ten years ago today, the world of music mourned the loss of the late, great Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, who tragically died in a car accident in the Honduras.

Having lived much of her 30 years in front of the camera, the TLC star’s final days were no different. Armed with a camera team, the femcee was in the process of shooting documentary which was designed to rehabilitate her public image following years of controversy and media mistruths.

The result? A harrowing, yet entirely fascinating watch; one which relays a tale of suffering, spirituality, and rebirth.

As the equally tragic passings of Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, and Whitney Houston have shown, greatness is ever-enduring. And “great” Left Eye was.
