With two #1 albums under her belt, Minaj is now the 7th Female artist of black descent to score two or more #1 LPs, in this millennium.
Joined by Beyonce (Dangerously In Love, B’Day, I Am… and 4) and Mariah Carey (The Emancipation Of Mimi and E=MC2), Nicki comes in as the only Rapper in the group, surpassing efforts by Missy Elliott and Eve, as well as Aaliyah, Whitney Houston and Epic belle Ciara.
Born to an Indo-Caribbean father and Afro-Trinidadian mother, Minaj came to the public’s attention as a budding Femcee in 2007 but only became a household name with the release of her debut album ‘Pink Friday‘ in 2010.
In April 2012, she launched its follow up ‘Pink Friday:Roman Reloaded’, pushing her total worldwide sales over the 2.5 million sold mark.
