There’s no doubt about it, London is the place to be this Summer for any in search of great live acts.
If it isn’t Drake, Nicki Minaj and Rita Ora at the Wireless Fest in July, it’s Coldplay when they hit the city in June as part of their Mylo Xyloto Tour.
However, if the above isn’t enough to tickle your fancy, today welcomed news of epic proportions.
Jay Z & Rihanna are to headline the 2012 Olympic Games…
Business Week reports:
The pair will star in the BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend 2012 (ordained by the committee as the headlining event) a month before the Games, said organizers of the Olympics cultural festival, releasing the program at a news conference today.
Comedians Stephen Fry and Tim Minchin will be among other entertainers cropping up in venues across Britain.
“There will be absolutely something for everyone: from Beethoven to Jay-Z, from Shakespeare to Mike Leigh,” Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt said at the news conference in the Tower of London.
