Tulisa Attempts To Redeem Herself With New ‘Young’ Performance

Published: Wednesday 16th May 2012 by Sam

After “that” shambolic showing on Britain’s Got Talent, Pop tart Tulisa finally found her heels for her latest performance of chart-topper ‘Young’.

Did she find some stage presence or ability to sing in key too? Peep her appearance on the BBC’s Friday Download below for the answer…

Unlike her BGT catastrophe, it seems the smaller stage was more “fitting” for her limited talent. Hence, while marginally “better”, this jump up and down Mozzarella fest further cements her “basic” status. There were better performances in the audience, yet this is who sits judging others?

Your thoughts?

Just as bad as the BGT performance.

  4. RazB32 May 16, 2012

Who the f***** booked Tulisa to perform infront of children? She’s not a damn role model, and the song is about people forgiving her for sucking d*** and having it uploaded.. *smh*

    • tweetypiebabe1 May 17, 2012

Yes because she managed to record, master, distribute, film, edit and release a single and music video in one day, seen as how the song was released a day or two after the video was released to the public. Please…

Lol naw um amendment 5. That outfit did not fit the concept of the song. She looked like he was aiming business instead of something on a trendy level. The rave jump was ok but if that is the only dance that you can offer a song that type of music will get very boring. She still sounds nasal. The outfit has to fit the concept of the song. She should have made a different fashion statement.

Listen to Afrodisiac by Teni! She’s the new Sade! Hot!!

  7. Dunk May 16, 2012

Again nothin wrong with that performance, far better outfit than the mess she had on BGT she sounds brilliant as usual and the kids LOVED her , shes a winner!

  8. NOBITCHASSNESS May 16, 2012

It was better than her BGT performance.

She is a terrible singer and performer. I am getting sick of the racist UK music industry they want to give girls like Tulisa and Jessie J maximum support and ignore Alexandra Burke, Dionne Broomfield and Sabrina Washington.

TULISA HAS NO STAR QUALITY HER PROBLEM IS SHE ALWAYS LOOKS CHEAP NEVER GROOMED SHE JUST LOOKS LIKE THE LOCAL CHAVS U SEE DOWN THE STREET ON A WEEKEND I MEAN WHEN U R PERFORMING U R SUPPOSED TO HAVE SOME KINDA STAGE PERSONA AND MOST ARTIST REFLECT THAT THROUGH THEIR STAGE SETTING AND SOME KINDA STAGE OUTFIT BUT SHE JUST WEARING A DRESS YOU WOULD GO CLUBBING IN

  11. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) May 16, 2012

She did a decent job, but is there any doubt the audience were paid extras? I’ve never seen such a hyped crowd before and, let’s face it, neither the song nor Tulisa herself can get a crowd that excited.

  12. Blustarent May 16, 2012

Thats the type of business outfit you wear to work in an office. It can transition to a lounge but a club? I’m not sure unless you are apart of the unpopular crowd. To make a statement saying carefree youth she is dressed for an interview. Most of the time we all know why we go to a club. To dance,to drink. Some go to get picked up for 1 nighters

  13. NoNo May 16, 2012

@ASAP lol, they’re just kids having a good time and having fun on TV. If I was their age, I would too.

Anyway, it was a good vocal and she’s a good/decent singer. I don’t think people understand how tough it must be to go from being in the type of band she used to be in to being alone on the stage. If you look at the old N-Dubz performances, the other two were completely hyperactive while she generally just stood/slowly walked around and sung.

Even singers with the worst stage presence (i.e Rihanna) improve substantially and become more comfortable on stage after they have a load of performances under their belt.

  14. David May 16, 2012

The silver outfit in the above is what you wear to a club.

and than someone offended Kelly Rowland saying tulisa is better ….there i no comparison between the two girl!!!!

  16. skintightjeans May 16, 2012

This is the b**** that calls herself “The Female Boss.” Um b****, nothing boss about this performance or the last one. Beyonce is a boss. Rihanna is a boss. Mariah is a boss. You? You’re the employee at McDonalds trying to elevate to fry cook status. Sit down please.

  17. Stans Make Me LOL May 16, 2012

Performances in 2012 are wack, all these female artists seem to do is sing the same two lines for 3 minutes, and jump up and down throughout the duration of their performance. BORING!!!

  18. Steph May 16, 2012

Tulisa and Kelly Rowland no comparison! She should quit wearing dresses, it just doesn’t look good…now to her performance it was ok, and better than BGT but nothing special. Is this a mentor for young ones???*smh*

  19. georgia23 May 16, 2012

Wow… I’m not from the UK but I frequent TGJ because I always want to hear about someone that I haven’t heard of before. And it would seem that this blog and the public are MAD hard on this girl! She’s not half as bad as people make her out to be. She has a really unique voice and she could DEFINITELY use some help in the performance department, but she’s not horrible by a long shot. I like her.

  20. SCOTT YOU FOOL May 16, 2012

This is to SCOTT you should think before you speak about racist UK music industry because it is something you simply know nothing about racism has nothing to do with it let me break it down for you Alexandra Burke had maximum support when she was promoting her 1st album now she is doing her 2nd album she had left Simons label but she is still getting the same support she had then what is good support not because she is black but because she is good at what she does as far as Dionne Broomfield she is a nobody and still rides of Amy’s name r.i.p. so I hope that gal flops hard and Sabrina Washington has no talent and does really bad music and is nothing without Mis-teeq.
Girls like Tulisa and Jessie J can sing Tulisa might not sing high every time that doesn’t mean she can sing remember Little Mix sing with Tulisa – X Factor Final 2011 she killed it and Jessie J is an amazing singer.
What next Adele only made it because she is white grow up you fool before you start something big.
    P.s. I am a black child.

  21. antertain May 16, 2012

Not a solo star for me but she done a good job of mentoring on the x-factor show.
I wont knock her grind though as she can say “i had the no.1 single”.

  22. Jesse May 16, 2012

She sings pretty well, but she’s incredibly awkward on stage. She looked as if she didn’t want to be there.

All that aside, the song is poo.

  23. Saetana May 17, 2012

Her vocals are fine, but she really needs some performance lessons as she looks really awkward at the moment. She is used to being in a threesome, now she is the centre of attention she needs to work on her moves and her styling, she would be better off going back to urban clothes rather than look uncomfortable and awkward in a dress. The song is meh but at least she can sing live unlike Cheryl “lipsynch” Cole ;o)

  24. tweetypiebabe1 May 17, 2012

Tulisa clearly likes recording and reaping the seeds of what she’s sown rather than the performance. Plus, she’s used to having two other guys on stage to back her up and she’s clearly still got a lot of insecurities where her talent is concerned so give her a break. She still wrote an awesome dance, pop song and she’s singing live. Better than some I say.
