What I cannot understand is after so long in music, she still cannot get a hard memorable performance. I am watching this and I am cringing on her body movements. If I was rihanna I would put my flat ass on a treadmill and build my stamina. I would take some dance classes, not for my songs but to loosen up my bones, practice my vocals live and perform and slay. You can see that she is trying so hard but it is just not happening. She vocals are a mess and her dancing is just not natural but struggling stiff. You can she that she gets really tired half way through her performances and cannot catch up with the singing and lets the famous backtrack run. The navy said she slayed, their standards are so low that is why rihanna will never give them the best and if this is rihanna’s best.
Sorry but Rihanna stunk like rotten eggs. The audience should have booed her ass, that was one of the worse live performances I’ve seen in a minute. It’s perplexing how someone continues to be allowed to take the stage, only to keep proving to the world that she has little (if any at all) talent. Three more minutes of commercials instead would have been better than that.

Thank God the promotion finally started. So glad she included ‘BC’, the song is still climbing and thanks to this performance, it could top the urban chart and crack the main top 20! It’s a bit too late for ‘TTT’, though, it could have done much better had she performed it once or twice on US TV.
Anyway, her ‘WHYB’ performance was great in terms of staging and stage presence, she has improved. However, she’s still average (no stan, no hater, just objective). Imo, if she rehearses the choreography a little more and if she stops trying to belt (belting is not for everyone’s range and abilities, that’s acceptable), she will get A LOT better and more comfortable on stage. I could see that she was struggling in the bridge. She does show progress, though. And actually, I thought her ‘TTT’ performance was better vocally than ‘WHYB’, mostly because the latter is a little bit out of her comfort zone.
She did a good job overall, though. Hope to see more performances soon and I hope she gets to perform at the Billboard Awards, despite their stance on ‘BC remix’. That would be great promo and she could spice up the show a little, because, aside from Nelly and Cee Lo, it’s shaping up to be quite the snoozefest.

…Why so? Well, ‘B’ship’ was financially modeled after “John Carter”, and we ALL know how well THAT went, now don’t we? “John Carter” had a “P/A” (prints and advertising) budget of some $150-Million. As I’d said, you DON’T make an OVER $200-Million (most sources estimate ‘JC’ had cost $250-Million to produce) movie and give it a $50-Million budget – NO! ..Absolutely NOT! You give it a P/A budget of at least EQUAL to the production budget – which itself is totally logical!
..Battleship, according to deadline, had cost $250-Million to produce; just had $50-Million additional dollars added to its advertising budget, and as “tent-pole movies” go, had a P/A budget only befitting of a $250-Million movie studio investment! Ergo ‘Battleship”: $250-Million to produce + $150-Million P/A budget + another just-added $50-Million for Advertising = $450-Million in final, “get-to-theater” costs.
Come tomorrow afternoon, this weekend’s totals should be posted. I KNOW I can count on you to be here to then deflect, shout-down and ignore any and all “Battleship” realities:

Yeah it wasn’t good. Even on her best performances she’s still lacking. But at least she tried. But when are we gonna get to see actual performances where at least she tried and succeeded? I can name very few of them but not a lot. And as a singer, that’s a big mistake.
I think she should not try to dance and sing at the same time. She sounds out of breath and when you sing out of breath the sound that comes out does not sound pleasant. Therefore, you do not get a nice sounding resonance and tone.
To sum it up, Rihanna is a studio singer ONLY. Her stans cannot defend that cuz it’s true.
We need real talent to come back to the forefront. Every time I see Rihanna perform, it’s like watching the Gong Show. Whoever Svengali’d her to stardom proved their point; that they can grab any girl off any street who has little to no talent, make her his protege and manipulate them to fame by setting them up with the right team. We get it. Anybody can be famous with the right outfit. Anybody can have a hit with the right producer.
