    Show me the receipts!!

    • mobwife June 12, 2012

      THANK YOU!

Something just doesn’t ring true about her sells figures! Come on, it was a good CD (I didn’t buy it) but it just doesn’t warrant all of this attenion! I can name a hundreed artsist who made similar or better CDs that didn’t receive his type of press and promotion! #i’mjustsaying

      • Mike June 12, 2012

Every now and then there’s albums that sell like this. Adele has become a phenomenon and it’s no surprise her sales are like this at this point.

The album has literally been everywhere and it’s massive crossover appeal is keeping it selling.

      • NewF*YorkBabe. June 12, 2012

… if you never bought it how would you know? and literally you are probably one of the few people who I’ve heard of that doesn’t own this album. Everyone from my Grandma, to boss, to my cousin’s friends in grade 9 bought this. It’s absolutely no surprise it’s doing so well. It’s such a simple beautifully crafted complete album. The PR train for this didn’t even really start till it was 2x platinum. and even then, compared to a Rihanna or Nicki Minaj style promo, Adele’s had nothing. It’s album that speaks to the heart and came out of no where, and we have very (very) few albums like that since the industry started blasting s*** into my ears since ’08. #I’mjustsaying

Obviously you live in a hole somewhere

      • Ryan June 13, 2012

Obviously you live in a hole somewhere…

    • cltimms June 13, 2012

^ i dont own the album but heard the snippets in iTunes not my type of artist but good job to her hard work, and i dont know ‘anyone’ that owns this album (speaking about my close friends and coworkers)

      • sammi June 13, 2012

I listened to a snippet of it as well on Amazon and its NOT all that. Her sales figures have always been sketchy to me. Who is still buying this album for it to have a million copies a week sold for about 18 months now? Come on son. I can understand high number the first few weeks or even months but come on, she’s breaking MJ records. The album was not all that and neither is she. B**** need to lose some weight before she dont make it to 30.

  2. darren June 12, 2012

Good for Adele. While Rihanna using body doubles & partying she will soon be kicked out and replaced by Rita. Rihanna was just partying yesterday. Yes a week day Monday. While her fans are still saying that there’s nothing wrong with her partying lol.

    • farren June 12, 2012

did you reeeaally just bring rihanna up…? lmfaoooo this is exactly why she’s still famous… #thankyou =)

    • Benron June 12, 2012

Rita is going to flop, nobody knows her, she is boring! She will flop harder than Alexandra burke! And dont say body doubles like it was proved, #Lies

      • virtuoso intellect June 12, 2012

once upon a time nobody knew rihanna either. u rhitards are so insecure … must be something u all share with ur dysfunctional fav. rih has attained so much success is it so bad if another female becomes popular with singles too? smh. So far she’s doing great anyways so ur ill thoughts have no real bearing

      • You June 12, 2012

Sweetie Rihanna started Hard with a team and has been good ever since. Rita has the same team but she does devote as much time to her career as Rihanna. Rihanna came into the game uberanly hard. And still remains as one of the top pop star in the world whether you like it or not. Muah! Kiss kiss my dear.

    • Bobby June 12, 2012

I’m no Rihanna stan but uhm who made the laws of what day partying was acceptable on? OHHHH but because shes a rockstar and doesn’t have a 9-5 she has to only drink on Friday or Saturday nights? Get outtttta here, people can drink party smoke whenever they want. It is there lives, go get your own talking smash on a blog.

  3. Mary-Ann Tatum June 12, 2012

Adelegend needs no receipts just read it and weep b****!

    • MichaelAngelo June 13, 2012

She’ll be voiceless in two years. One more surgery and it’s curtains. She has accomplished nothing more musical than Jill Scott or Erykah Badu. That album is no MJ Thriller.

  4. VFB June 12, 2012

Ummmm. I purchased this CD and I was soooooo disappointed, she’s good but average. Nothing to write home to mother about. I think she came along at the right time in music, no other CD/artist had put out anything hot; she came along and her music was different, not better, but different. I promise you, her 2nd CD will be a hot mess, it will be difficult for her to match this CD.

    • TeamBreezy June 12, 2012

this is her 2nd CD ….

      • Chk-ahh June 12, 2012

        he means her next.

        and their right!

      • NewF*YorkBabe. June 12, 2012

I think it shows he or she doesn’t know much about the artist , and did believe this was her first album and probably purchases something from an infamous lip syncer.

    • mobwife June 12, 2012

I both agree and disagree with you! I totally think that she bursted onto the music scene at the right time. However, It’s not that her sound is different (she’s singing Soul Music) she just offers the audience a “different look”! This of course isn’t to say she not a good artist which she is!

I doubt if her next CD sells as much, but make no mistake “the powers that be” will do everything in their power to duplicate these results even at the expense of other artists!

      • theman June 13, 2012

Make no mistake about it, her next album will still sale very well. She’s had a mega seller. She’s a real authentic artist, that has cultivated a huge following.

  5. Auntie_Jackie June 12, 2012

Wow! People are really starved for good music. Honestly, I don’t think the album was so amazing that it makes sense to have sold the way it did, but it PROVES better music from the heart with an awesome singer CAN and WILL dominate!

While electro-pop puppets are going WOOD, even with exposing themselves every chance they get!

    • virtuoso intellect June 12, 2012

electropop is on its way out .. i think bubble gum may be taking its place tho thanks to likes of Bieber, call me maybe singer and the 1 direction boys. alternative music is having a good look right now too. i just want variety. its not fair that only 1 type of sound gets to dominate. im so bored with radio playin the same damn songs all the time. starships shouldnt be in top 10 anymore

      • theman June 13, 2012

This album is amazing, people complain about poor sales, yet you have an artist doing amazing and y’all still bicker. Shut up, Jill and Adele’s music is completely different. They appeal to different audience, with different sounds.

    • KASEY JR. June 14, 2012

Lol at your gif. I was actually picturing someone saying “And Adele went #1………..again”

  6. POP ROYALTY ( Révolution) June 12, 2012

“21′ proves every week it IS the ALBUM OF THE DECADE.

WITH NO PROMO , she is putting other female artists and their sales to shame that’s The baddest b**** and the queen of them PERIOD

    • milan June 12, 2012

other female artist? maybe people like rihanna stuff like that but her sales are still no match to whitney, celine tina etc

      • POP ROYALTY ( Révolution) June 12, 2012

i did not mention whitney , i was hinting at the contemporarry current female artists who showed up at the same time as “adele” ……

  7. Beyonce’s Weave June 12, 2012

As much as I would want to throw shade, I cant, I have to give credit where it is due. Adele is slaying and slaying hard. Right now the charts are filled with music aimed at the younger or iTunes generation, Adele filled a void in the market by making music more geared to the mature or older age group who are more likely to buy music IMO. What is interesting is people still aren’t bored with this album.

Adele is slaying and slaying hard. Your move Emeli Sande.

    • theman June 13, 2012

      She’s appealing to everyone.

      • PIECE OF WEAVE June 13, 2012

You need to remove yourself with that name.

  8. Benron June 12, 2012

Adele is lazy, where is her tour? She recently said she is taking a five year break from music to date her boyfreind, no work ethic SMH!

Her songs make no damn sense! People talk about it being real music because she turned her synthesizers to The piano setting, ROFL! “Ill just keep chasing pavements even if they lead nowhere” “Let if fall, my heart, *inaudible* you rose to claim it*

She is no different then anyone else, her music gives the same inch, and people take it an hour with how they are feeling!Nothing distinct/intresting about what she is offering to music, after that break she should release and album called twenty-FOUR so it will flop just like the original album with that name!

    • Teacher June 13, 2012

‘and as it fell, u rose to claim it

    • sammi June 13, 2012

That is some lazy s***. Who takes a 5 year break when ur still establishing a world wide audience. Adele is all hype cause she’s some white girl with a soul infused voice. Personally, I like Amy Winehouse better. She had flavor. Adele just stands there with that bouffant 60’s hair style and those tent dresses. Amy had flare on her shows. Aside from those drunken episodes of course lol

      • Jess June 13, 2012

22 million albums sold.. 8 grammys.. yea.. sounds to be like she still needs to establish a world wide audience.. maybe you lost your common sense as you were thinking of the “tent dress” comment…which wasnt witty in the least. Moron..

  9. virtuoso intellect June 12, 2012

i dunno what to say, too many times we congratulated Adele already lol but wassup with the US doin the most tho, she’s finally bowed out of top 10 in her hometurf and yall still hangin on to her ankle like its the best thing since slice bread. Id love to have a convo with someone who woke up this week and decided now is the time i want to buy Adele’s cd

    • Benron June 12, 2012

In response t owhat you said about “Rita doing well” she is nothing more than an up comign U.k star, here the new come-ups getting airplay are “Karmin” and other such artist, we do not want to hear RitA/Rihanna comparisons like they make sense.

At least compare Rihanna to someone somewhat like her who is putting something new out like Ciara, someone who has sold at least 1 album *coughs* not Rita!

      • virtuoso intellect June 12, 2012

im not interested in rita/rihanna comparisons. Rita deserves to do well based on her talent. she deserves more success than rihanna whose the face sheer industry puppetry. she’s only successful cus she has a machine behind her. no artist should be fazed by rihanna cus she’s a fluke. im not comparing nobody to rihanna. u rhitards are mad threatened u know rihanna has no talent to keep her relevant hence she can replaced in a minute. if that Jay’s plan i say AMEN cus at least Rita can sing Rihanna is just a hollow packaging

  10. gio88 June 12, 2012

i want 21 to become DIAMOND in Us!!

  11. REALTALK June 12, 2012

    • mobwife June 12, 2012

      Very well said! 🙂

I would add Amy Winehouse to your analysis as well! She was another voice ppl were deeply missing eventhough she does not have the legacy overtime that Shania Twain has!

      • theman June 13, 2012

It’s classic to alot of people. You speak for you not everyone else. Adele and Shania are nothing alike. She’s successful because her akbum is amazing. Quit the excuses.

    • anna June 13, 2012

@realtalk… it was the best comment i have read so far… yes, shania and adelea are nothing alike but their albums have tthe same appealing. they are the typical albums which every person can listen to, from pop, to country, to rock etc… that is the ingredient of success

  12. TAYLOR SWIFTS NUMBER 1 FAN!!! June 12, 2012

Amazing news, “one and only” should be the next single and then “turning tables”

    • Mike June 12, 2012

They’re done with singles from this album because she has a new song (presumably the Bond theme) coming out later this year.

      • TAYLOR SWIFTS NUMBER 1 FAN!!! June 13, 2012

No, what a waste of good songs.. dont they want her album to stell even more!

  13. Nana Applehead LovesSwift June 12, 2012

    This is an amazing feat!!!

  14. RazB32 June 12, 2012

For real, who’s still buying this album to the extent it’s going #1.
I mean 22 million copies already sold.. it’s so crazy.
    I’m sure it’s diamond now?!

  15. THE GREAT LACEFRONCE. June 12, 2012

    The Fat H** is OVERRATED

Her voice is very BLAND & AVG if you ask me 😕

she will fade just like susan boyle did after the hype

    • Jayla June 12, 2012

she can afford to fade, and still buy and sell your flaming ass

    • Mike June 12, 2012

She will not fade away. She has pretty much SOLIDIFED her fanbase (aka the entire world) with this album (she also did with 19, hence why it took off in the beginning)

There’s no way you sell consistently for almost 2 years the way she has and then just fade away. 3 number 1 singles, etc.

Her next album will be MASSIVE. I can only imagine the first week sales. If she puts out another quality album she could very well repeat 21’s success. It probably won’t drag out as much because her next album will be front-loaded with sales but it’s pretty much guaranteed to do extremely well when it comes out.

And it’ll be pretty much easy sailing after that. They probably won’t be as successful but she’ll pretty much always do well with her albums.

  16. Ernest June 12, 2012

WTF?? Something isn’t adding up right. Yeah her cd is good but it damn sure isn’t great. I don’t really get the hype and I don’t who is still buying her album (LABEL) . I guess tho.

    • Jayla June 12, 2012

gay men always trying to uncover consiracies, b**** labels dont buy records its pointless get a life

    • yeyay June 12, 2012

NBC showed the Royal Albert Hall Live DVD on TV…during this sales week

  17. Gaaglooo! June 12, 2012

    Oh Yeah! Another Worthy New!!!

  18. YouDoRealize… June 12, 2012

If this keeps going, God forbid it but, Colombia might focus more on her than, dare I say it, Beyonce. I’ve been asking this question since novemeber of 2011. Who The HELL is buying this album. I would love to see who. Or if XL/Colombia are buying records…

  19. Alex Thomas June 12, 2012

  20. Tru Voice June 12, 2012

LORD I’M SO SICK OF HER!!! There are other Brits who are black and have similar music but no one is checking for them smh..

Okay, she can sing and has a gritty voice, but she is overrated. Sorry. Call me a hater f you want, Whatever.

    • zzz June 13, 2012

      u mad n****

    • im not throwing shade, but… June 13, 2012

Celine did her thang! She stuck to the original, and I’m liking her voice on the song.
I brought the Adele album and thought it was okay, but hardly listen to it now (only rolling in the deep) I’m confused by all the attention so long after its release to be honest, but if people still wanna buy good on them

    • JohnVidal(RIP Whitney-truegreat) June 13, 2012

Never heard that Celine live version before! Thanks

  21. Jayla June 12, 2012

the hate, lol…. i’m glad she making you f*** mad

  22. Lax June 12, 2012

Good for her when its your time its your time, i just wonder what will her next albun
do as compared to her first two. Whats for you is for you and time will tell the true
tale of ll of her great success with her two albums. She is doing really good and
she do have a nice voice. But there or others who or good to me also, there or many great voices out there as well, good for adele.
This has nothing to do with Rihanna at all its about ADELE achievenment.

  23. Geezy June 12, 2012

Damn that Adele reign just won’t let up.

  24. Tbozfan10 June 12, 2012

It’s all the more amazing that this is happening in 2012, when album sales are waaaay down. I didnt buy this cd nor do I plan on it, but congratulations on the biggest album in almost a decade. The last time I remember albums selling anywhere near this is in 2004 when Usher’s ‘Confessions’ and Outkast’s ‘Speakerboxx/ the Love Below’ we’re burning up the charts.

  25. Jay June 12, 2012

Why can’t people just be happy for her. All these negatives comments smh. Why does it have to be a conspiracy? Adele’s audience is HUGE. She’s young enough to appeal to a young audience but her music and voice is mature enough to capture the attention of an older audience.
Before all the success people were saying how AMAZING her voice was. How soulful and powerful. But now that she’s gained attention and doing a lot better than your favorite artist she’s all a sudden “overrated and not that great” … CONGRATS ADELE.

    • YouDoRealize… June 12, 2012

NO when she sold 22 million off an album that was worth more like 6 or 7 mil thats when stans/fans of other artists said“overrated and not that great” Now take it with a piece of lime and keep it moving.

      • Jayla June 12, 2012

        u mad?

  26. Blackman June 12, 2012

OVERRATED LMAO if she was not white people would look the other way fast. its the same old RNB FROM THE GOOD OLD 90S but she bringing it back nothing new

  27. Kissy_Minaj June 12, 2012

If Adele was black, her ass wouldn’t sell so much. I swear white people are so racist, not all of them but those who are buying her album over and over again to prove a point. Her album is not great, its just ok. I will never buy it.

    • zzz June 13, 2012

u angry n**** ,,, an good she is not black

  28. Tyler June 12, 2012

Just bought the album last he won’t go is my fave song…

  29. Jayla June 12, 2012

i personally havent even bought the album yet, I love it though and i will buy it next week

    • zzz June 13, 2012

hahaha i love this … go get it baby

  30. Gilberto June 12, 2012

21 is already a classic album like Thriller, The Dark Side Of The Moon, Nevermind, Abbey Road, Back to Black etc. Congratulations, Adele! Her album is really good (although I liked 19 more). 21 is the album of this decade.

    • Blackman June 13, 2012

Thriller shits on this you moron.

  31. Darren June 12, 2012

are you people kidding? this is clearly a wonderful achievement for a truly talented artist. The numbers don’t lie. rihanna and beyonce wish they could get this far.

  32. BOO BOO June 13, 2012

  33. Lioha June 13, 2012

The official Billboard info isn’t out yet, so we don’t know if she returns on the #1 spot.
It is just HDD prediction and with only 200 copies margin over Alan Jackson she can finish second behind him on the Billboard.

  34. aishaaguilerakeys June 13, 2012

  35. JohnVidal(RIP Whitney-truegreat) June 13, 2012

Are you people serious? A conspiracy? LMAO
You need to understand this type of huge albums appeal to everybody! The kids, the teens, the adults and your 80 years old grandma. I´ve said it many times here. Celine, Whitney, Mariah, etc have these type of huge sales on their belt cos everybody liked them, while it didn´t happen with Beyonce´s ass popping music. Sorry, the world was missing this since almost the 20th century, and here you have the results. LMAO @ Beyonce, Rihanna and Chris Brown fans on this post!! haha Do u really think your average favs are on the superior league? Welcome to the real world. You are late but you finally realized now right? 🙂 The 00´s decade was pretty lame for mainstream music in general, this was needed

That said, I think “21” sales should stop right now, it is a great album, not a f****** masterpiece (not saying like the fools I mentioned that this is not happening, I say that it deserves no more sales for now, enough already)

  36. theman June 13, 2012

    The album is brilliant.

    • zzz June 13, 2012

      well said

  37. lax June 13, 2012

okay who cares…….we get it….its a good album time to move on….we have other people to worried about this year

  38. the real xoxo June 13, 2012

these late 90s kids on this post are just mad that adele doesnt need to resort to publicity stunts and attention seeking tactics to sell a CD. I still think Jessie J’s album was better, and 21 is definitely overrated, but im glad real talent is owning the gimmicks. most of these commenters care more about chart positions rather than the music itself.

    • theman June 13, 2012

Nah Jessie’s was good though. But Adele’s had that aura about it.

  39. EBONY CLAWS June 13, 2012

WITH NO PROMO , she is putting other female artists and their sales to shame The baddest b**** and the queen of them

Other female artists INCLUDING YO’ FAVES are put all to shame???

Damn! I’d never say anything so shameful, and Adele-ass-sniffing like that!!!!

The b**** is my FAVE, and she’s been rocking the s*** for a decade. However, THIS ERA, she sold nothing like Adele.

    don’t have to!!!

And WHO the WHATTEST WHAT and the WHAT of WHO???

Does she know how to PERFORM ON STAGE like KINGB for example?

Can she tense a muscle to a rythme?

Can she MAKE MONEY like a dude?

Damn! Saying s*** like “BADDEST B****” on a 70-year-old fart like ADELE is just so lame, and embarrassing.

It comes from a freak who gets r**** in school, not the youthful, cheerful dude that is @POP ROYALTY

    • POP ROYALTY ( Révolution) June 13, 2012

i said ” PPL who showed up AT the same TIME as ADELE” !

Not BEYONCE. Adele herself is a Beyonce STAN. Beyonce’s career is stretching beyond 15 years Now , so why i will compare adele to her ? i was talking about the katy perry’s , and the nicki minaj’s of the world. NOT Beyonce.

Beyonce is The full package. whether these h*** above liked it or not.

  40. TAYLOR SWIFTS NUMBER 1 FAN!!! June 13, 2012

Adele’s 21 falls out of the Top 10 for the first time in 72 weeks in the uk, seems the americans love her more then we do.

  41. RoyalKev June 13, 2012

I don’t have this album either. I was actually interested in Adele at the beginning of this era (because I loved Chasing Pavements). I thought ’21’ would be just as good/or even better than ’19’ because I felt like Adele had huge potential. Once I heard the snippets for ’21’, I wasn’t impressed. I liked ‘Someone Like You’, but I just thought maybe I haven’t sat down long enough to really be moved by the nuggets on this album. I went back several times to try and “get it”. Then I realized that this is one of those albums people are afraid to dislike. So I stopped trying after a while. I think the hype is catching up with Adele and people are questioning ’21’s’ greatness (especially after realizing the brillance of ‘Back to Black’ after Amy’s death). I’m not saying Adele is a bad artist or that the album wasn’t worthy of some of it’s praise and success. I’m one of those people that have hated music since ’08 too! So just like those folks, I probably considered Adele to be a breath of fresh air … but we’ve been breathing it for over a year and a half now. What’s so fresh about it now? I have a feeling this album will not leave the top 10 this year. Somebody needs to be applauded for that.

  42. zzz June 13, 2012

    go adele

  43. Sleazy June 13, 2012

Don’t sit here and lick her ass “21” to me is OKAY I’m not a fan 22mil O_o for a snooze fest album lawd people must be lonely and heartbroken…. 19 shits on this I would have understand if it was 19 but 21 pffffffff

  44. Casual June 13, 2012

Rihanna and Katy Perry, for example, can’t sell huge numbers of CDs (as opposed to single downloads) b/c of their young fan bases.

Adele appeals to a much broader audience ranging from teens to senior citizens. The older the demographic, the less likely they are to download music (hence, CD sales) and the longer they are likely to discover music (hence, that Adele’s CD is still selling).

There are more the 300 million people in the United States, so her stateside sales numbers are totally in the conceivable range.

    • Blackman June 13, 2012

she is overrated cant dance and she dont have a high level voice just good one

  45. Blackman June 13, 2012

Who thinks this is on the level of Whitney Houston “The Bodyguard” and MJ “Thriller” ? If so, you’re a moron.

  46. EBONY CLAWS June 13, 2012

OK, I’m so sorry. and CO-SIGN.

  47. 21 June 14, 2012

    Amazing and a phenomenal singer!!!

The thing, in my opinion, we`re missing is that music is made to touch you in same way. Adele is so successful because her music touch a much deeper part of the listener soul…at least for the majority of the people….She really have the ability to perform live like no other artist at her`s generation….(her live performances are thousand times better than the CD audio), she can pass feelings when she`s performing….feelings, feelings a lot deeper than fun feeling like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Perry, Gaga and others now a days……She is a true artist…she isn`t a celebrity…..the thing about her is ..She`s is unique….in style, in modesty, she doesn`t use her body to promote her music, she`s humble, and this whole package turn her a very likable, lovely person….which fans can be sympathetic with…..

Another thing is, like an artist, she`s just in another level………is a sign even to compare her to Gaga, Rihanna, Perry and Beyoncé….I am sorry but is the pure truth.

Her music like many other true artits before her, will be heard from the decades ahead….. Or all the critics…and all the world is wrong, and the few people who don`t like her are right. Choose your path.

Remembering that a wise man said once: “The voice of people is the voice of god !”
