Congratulations are in order for Nicole Scherzinger.
For, after a rocky year which saw her debut album fail to score a US launch and face a dismissal from X Factor USA, Scherzinger has officially landed a judging a role on X Factor UK.
Details below…
ITV News reports:
The singer will join Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos on the talent show in a reported £750,000 deal.
The former Pussycat Dolls star – who is dating Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton – replaced Cheryl Cole on the US version of the show after the Girls Aloud singer was dropped from the panel last year.
For some strange reason, the folk at the X Factor think people are interested in seeing Nicole… every week.
If her label don’t believe she’s commercially potent enough to release an LP in her domestic market, and she failed to attract audiences in that very market, why in Kelly Rowland‘s name do they believe she’ll fare any better elsewhere on essentially the same show?
As someone accurately put it, Scherzinger is the greatest trick the devil ever played. For, people only pay attention to her because they believe everyone else is.
That said, business is business and one must get in where they fit in; the US wasn’t the place for this former Pussycat. Whether the UK is will be interesting to see.
