Chart Queen: Rita Ora Breaks Multiple Records With ‘How We Do’

Published: Sunday 19th Aug 2012 by David

Whether her detractors like it or not, there’s just no stopping the rising force that is Rita Ora.

Using the notoriety afforded to any performer affiliated with moguls Jay Z & Beyonce to carve out her own career, today has seen the Calvin Klein spokeswoman extend her lead as the UK’s leading newbie.

By way of her new single ‘How We Do ( Party)‘, she has broken a number of new chart records.

Full story below…

Now her third consecutive UK #1, following ‘Hot Right Now‘ and the Drake penned ‘R.I.P’, ‘Party’ makes Rita the only artist this year to see more than two of her singles  hit #1  in their first week- surpassing feats by Cheryl Cole and fellow record breaker Rihanna.

As if that wasn’t enough, the cut also makes her the first debut act from any genre this year to enjoy the same feat- extending her lead the year’s fastest charting performer in the country, as all three singles were released within the short space of seventh months.

This, casting a shadow over a feat she once shared with Rapper Nicki Minaj, which saw them mark the only two acts to have two singles in the Official Charts Mid Year tally.

Of course, with a third #1 under her belt, Rita now trumps Minaj’s record and sits pretty as 2012’s highest charting singles act- despite the fact that her debut LP ‘ORA’ is yet to be released in the country.

Peep our latest interview with the chart topper below:

Juicy fact:

Every single Rita Ora number launched since her debut has sold over 100,000 copies in its first week.
