With minimal interest greeting Trey Songz these days, the R&B crooner can take solace in the fact that his music is resonating somewhere. Specifically, the UK.
No stranger to London town, the ‘Bottoms Up’ singer has made many a promo trip to this side of the pond, yet had never yielded a chart position to show for it. Until now.
Details after the jump…
The freshly published Official UK Singles Chart places the 27 year old’s latest International single, ‘Simply Amazing’, at #8. A feat which earns the diva his first UK top 10.
Prior to this point, Songz’s best performing British effort was ‘Heart Attack’ (#28), which too is lifted from his forthcoming LP ‘Chapter V’ (due August 21st).

The US mass may have pulled the Trigga on Trey’s Stateside relevancy, yet it’s somewhat good to see his International efforts finally paying off.
Perhaps he’d have better fortunes in all markets, at once, if he served up a product that was compelling enough. This R&B circa 2002 stuff he’s been peddling for the past five years is a major reason (along with his horrible attitude) why his buzz isn’t buzzing the way it was. Like, it’s clear both the artist and the material are a huge problem when an act is afforded all Trey was post-‘Ready’ (reality show, Kodak commercials, tour after tour) and still is unable to release a Platinum album.
Still, we’ll leave Mr Songz to celebrate a solid achievement. Fingers crossed the new market that’ve embraced him will encourage him, in turn, to switch things up.
