Little Mix Soar With ‘Wings’ On Red Or Black

Published: Saturday 25th Aug 2012 by Sam

Pop quad Little Mix performed their latest single ‘Wings’ on ITV’s Red or Black tonight.

The cut, which is X Factor winner’s first post-show effort, hits iTunes tomorrow.

Did they do enough to give the track the necessary boost? The answer awaits after the jump…

While the ladies were vocally solid (especially Perrie, who can do wrong in our eyes), the performance was as flat as a sheet of A4. Indeed, it felt as if we were watching a high school recital vs “the” performance that’s supposed to propel the group to the top of the charts.

Still, in an industry full of models and posers, it’s warming to see the ladies have the most important component “sorted” – their voices. And on a group tip, their harmonies. We can only hope their stage presence and star quality manifests over time.

They were on point with their voices but something just didn’t feel right. Still they’re not gonna have the stage presence like gaga or rihanna, they’ll grow into this *hopefully*

they are so boring! they can sing though.
    not as good as Stooshe

    • Sarah Says August 26, 2012

They sing better that Stooshe, Stooshe wail and shout too much

        go watch stooshe acoustic performances.
stooshe are fun, confident and loud.
little mix are boring, contrived and want to be victims.

i think the performance was just blocked poorly. that whole rotation thing they were doing was just silly. the harmonies were perfect. i’ve heard jesy sound better but the rest of the girls were ace. leigh-ann has never sounded better. i always kind felt like she was the weak link vocally but she is much improved.

Leigh-anne is always OVER excited when she’s performing lol

She desperately wants to be the Beyonce of the group but has the weakest vocals.

Look. They could either go One Direction big or its a toss up between Leigh-anne and Perrie for who’ll be 1st to throw up “deuces” to the other three.

There was just something off about this performance, I like the song but felt the performance didn’t do it justice.

Its funny that the best xfactor winners vocally make their songs sound the best. Leona – Bleeding Love, Alexandra – Bad boys & Little Mix – Wings. All mediocre songs brought to life with great vocals with charisma and attitude (although for me Leona never matched the vocal style of Bleeding Love)
The thing that saves the song is the bridge which is catch where the rest of the song isn’t really. The girls together vocally were fantastic, individually.. okay with Perri by far the best vocally and more confident (i feel she will out grow the group quickly)

I’m suprised that they preformed this on red & black. I thought that the debut preformance was saved for xfactor? i guess with dire ratings they have no choice

The debut performance is saved for whenever the debut track is released. The song was released today so that’s why they’ve started promotion.
