The video for Brandy’s ‘Put It Down (ft. Chris Brown)’ premiered literally moments ago.
Directed by Hype Williams, the clip was creatively moulded by Frank Gatson, and choreographed by ‘Single Ladies’ supremo Jaquel Knight. Needless to say, Ms. Norwood assembled quite the dream team for her comeback clip.

I think it’s the best she could possibly do for this song. The video does its job, which is promoting the track. It’s a solid video. Some people should realize that the quality and most importantly the budget of video clips have changed since the 90’s. Brandy can’t give you ‘Almost Doesn’t Count’ 2.0. The clip is good 🙂

The video wasnt too bad, I liked the moves that she was doing, Chris did his thing too, although his tattoos make him look really terrible (stayed clothed Chris) . She did her thing and I liked the video it reminded me like 2005 where it’s simple but enjoyable. My only complaint is that she should have released it way back in May or early summer when the song was released but who cares we can’t change the past. I do hope the song continues to pick up on the billboard chart and radio adds. The song is too rhythmically unusual to be a pop charter, and the video lacks thematic unity and definitely appears low-rent. Much as I wish for Brandy’s revival and success, I do not see “Put It Down” as the vehicle for that to happen. Here’s hoping that the next single will do better–at the very least, let’s hope it reaches “Motivation” levels of success.

Brandy has always danced in her uptempo and fast paced videos. This is a fast song or mid tempo and it’s to dance to. She should and did shake her ass hot as hell for this video. Hot and decent!
Truth- Although I loved it I did visualize some sort of next-level other- stratosphere type direction from Hype Williams besides the color and wall separation effects. That’s just my expanded mind of music, choreography and talent. LOL!

What is the matter with you people? The problem is you guys were expecting too much or the wrong things from Brandy. This is just her 1st single. Did you expect her to have a groundbreaking single with iconic edge and choreography? I see people mentioning Beyonce, Kelly etc…This is BRANDY! And she is not a technical dancer, nor does she profess to be one!
She is not Janet, Beyonce, Kelly, etc…She is BRANDY who has carved a lane out big enough for herself that others would like to follow in. This single was not meant to sell her album, it was meant to get her name back out there and get people talking about her. What other artist in today’s market can take TWO FOUR YEAR breaks in the last ten years, and consistenly book Top 40 singles? Brandy. What other singer out there can come back after not being on a label for a couple yeats, get signed, and drop a single that steadily climbs the charts? Brandy F****** Norwood. She has a niche, she has a lane, and she’s constantly perfecting/practicing her craft. I say mission accomplished!

Hmm…. Not really feeling this at all – she seemed very stiff and overly rehearsed – it didnt come across as true confidence – WHERE IS AFRODISIAC BRANDY??? I am not a huge fan of the song and I was hoping the video would make up for it – but the video was EXTRA CHEESY…. here’s hoping they can resurrect Brandy’s career because this just won’t do.

The song is cute, but the inclusion of Chris is a total turn off. He adds nothing to the song for me. I loved so many of her previous commercially unremarkable singles a lot more than this, but hopefully this new, less serious direction at least gets her some traction on radio.
