With footage of Nicki Minaj ‘blasting’ fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey circulating around the net, fans of both stars now question exactly what the ‘blow up’ was all about… and the events that led up to it.
Now, in what sheds some light on the altercation, an excerpt from the transcript taken from the argument has surfaced- revealing there may have been more to Minaj’s outburst than what initially met the eye.

Nicki: “You think I’m playing. Think it’s a joke! Think this is a f*cking joke! Say one more disrespectful thing to me- say one more disrespectful thing to me.”
Mariah: (Inaudible)
Randy: “Whoah whoah, hold up, settle down”
Nicki: “Don’t lose your head! Yes, don’t tell me I’m inadequate. Maybe you’re inadequate, you’re insecure running down your resume every five minutes. Every time you patronize me Imma take it back and if you’ve got a ****ing problem, handle it.
Mariah “Oh Why, why, why do I have a three year old sitting around me?”
Nicki: “I told them I’m not ****ing putting up with your ****ing highness over there. I’m not sitting here for 20 minutes and have her run down her resume every five miuutes, every day.”
Mariah: “I couldn’t see my kids because you decided to have a little baby fit and go all around the stage.”
Nicki: “Good! Go! Go see them now, go. You’re boring as ****.”
Whichever way this is spun, this does not look good for Ms. ‘Super Bass’, who now finds herself on the wrong end of many a Carey supporter, of which there are plenty.
However, as we’re sure Nigel Lythgoe and Ryan Seacrest are all too aware of, it’s unlikely Minaj would have responded the way she did without provocation. Provocation, we’d put good money on Mariah employing to score the reaction she did today.
Of course, this doesn’t make Nicki’s yelling any less embarrassing, but does place ‘Idol’ in a sticky situation if she opts to leave, taking her ‘young’ audience with her. The very audience FOX knew Mariah nor Randy nor Keith Urban would never be able to secure without her.
In short, though we aren’t here for Minaj’s screaming, we’d say it came in response to the same attitude that Christina, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna and dare we say Whitney all faced at one point or another.
