In the 90s, you could have 5 good songs and fill the rest of the album with filler, all you have to do is release those 5 good songs as singles and people will have no choice but to buy the rest of the CD only for those 5 songs.
Today, they’ll buy those 5 songs since they don’t have to buy the whole album. The most competitive era in music is today, not the 90s.

But You have other upcoming young girls who are inspired by beyonce. You might not hear everyday that someone is inspired by beyonce but you also don’t hear it with the legends as well. A lot of people say they are inspired by Beyonce like Rihanna, Adele, Lady Gaga, etc but you don’t see her influence. You see Madonna’s influence on those like Britney, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, and many more. You see Janet’s influence on Ciara, Aaliyah, Beyonce, Britney, etc. You see Whitney’s influence on J.Hud and every female singer with a big voice trying to imitate her. You see Mariah’s influence on Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, JoJo, etc. And so forth with these legends and icons.
This is one of the things that concern me, even though many claim to be influenced by her, we don’t really see them sing, dance, entertain, etc and SEE Beyonce’s influence on them or their musicianship/artistry. I think majority of it has to do with the fact that she’s famous and on top so people generally praise those on top instead of actual influence.
