This week, Lady GaGa rises 8 spots to #10, perhaps as a result of her forthcoming North American leg of her ‘Born This Way Ball’ Tour- which arrives January 11th.
Her rise was also helped in part by her ‘Born Brave’ announcement, which saw her reveal that she will provide free mental health counselling to her ‘Monsters’ during the sold tour, in association with her Harvard University backed ‘Born This Way Foundation‘. As a result of this, the singer gained a cool 112,000 new Facebook fans, pushing conversations related to the star on the site by 18% while her overall YouTube and VEVO plays soared by 11%.
Meanwhile, ‘Masquerade‘ Rapper Minaj jumps 4 spots to #6 as momentum for her ‘American Idol’ debut intensifies.
Ironic, considering her lengthy hiatus from Twitter, which came to an end last night days before ‘Idol‘ hits FOX, January 16th, but hours after she extended her lead as the world’s fastest selling Female Rapper, following chart records broken in the UK.
Her rise also came as a result of the hype garnered around her NYE gig at Las Vegas’ ‘PURE‘, while her infectious number ‘Va Va Voom‘ spent its 10th week on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart.
