Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ Yet To Hit 2 Million Mark After Three Years / Outsold By ‘Pink Friday’

What a tangled web Rihanna weaves.

Yes, while her team’s ear for a hit has seen her become Pop’s reigning singles chart Queen, it seems they are yet to convince fans that the albums they come in aid of are worth their hard earned cash.

For, in what will come as a cruel and unusual shock for her loyal supports, her 2010 LP ‘Loud’ is still yet to hit US sales of 2 million copies, after being outsold by Nicki Minaj‘s debut LP ‘Pink Friday‘- released in the same month.

Unfortunate news below…

While Minaj‘s ‘Pink Friday‘ reached US sales of 1,774,000 million by February 2012, this week saw ‘Loud’ move an unfortunate 2,482 copies in the market, bringing it to sales of 1,705,994…three years after its November 12th 2010 arrival.

Mind blowing, considering the gargantuan feats scored by its singles, ‘Only Girl In The World‘, ‘What’s My Name‘, ‘California King Bed‘, ‘S&M (featuring Britney Spears)’ and its supporting ‘LOUD’ world tour which generated a sweet $90 million for the Pop sensation.

What’s more worrying though, is that it has now less than 400,000 copies away from being outsold by Beyonce‘s lowest selling album ‘4’, which had moved 1.3 million units in the US by October 2012, and 2 million copies worldwide.

As it stands, ‘Loud’ has been certified 6x Platinum in the UK, 5x Platinum in Ireland but only 2x Platinum in the US for shipments of 2 million units to retailers. It’s arrival came two years before the release of her seventh studio album ‘Unapologetic’, which features contributions from ‘The Dream‘, Sia and ‘XOX’ singer Elijah Blake.
