Watch: Justin Timberlake Debuts New Songs Live At DIRECTV Super Bowl Party

Published: Sunday 3rd Feb 2013 by Sam

We love a well orchestrated project here at That Grape Juice, hence it appears Justin Timberlake‘s is after our hearts.

For, fresh from rocking the charts with comeback single ‘Suit & Tie’, the former NSync frontman took to the stage at DIRECTV’s Super Saturday Night Party in New Orleans early this morning to perform songs from upcoming album ‘The 20/20 Experience’.

So what are you waiting for? Sample what JT will be serving up come March 19th after the jump…

Interesting. It seems Justin is steering clear of the Pop lane a certain other Justin has occupied in his absence. Smart, given that’s been his bread and butter for his entire solo and group runs? Time will tell…

Your thoughts?

  3. antertain February 3, 2013

    Supporting the R&B movement!!
He sounds re-energized and on fire.

Soul, R&B, Pop with some hip-hop flavours and then the 20/20 Experience will be a GREAT experience for us listeners.

    • mob: Nat Turner dreamin’ February 3, 2013

So why is it acceptable for so many ppl when someone like Timberfake does Soul, Pop, Hip Hop & R&B bu such a problem when BLACK ARTISTS produce CDs comprised of the same elements including Dance music? I don’t get why there is such a double standard? 0_o

  4. Kate Middleton February 3, 2013

    flop

  5. xedos February 3, 2013

As I said, people only like RNB NOWADAYS. When white people do it. You have Miguel. Luke. James. All doing great RNB, but people don’t get excited.

    • Waddie G. February 3, 2013

Not so true. It’s that Justin has better label backing than Miguel, Luke, Brandy, Jennifer, Alicia and the Black artists who are doing R&B.

Plus, R&B sells albums. Trash dance-pop sells singles.

    • Bryan Dossome February 3, 2013

In an era where RnB was thought of as dead,i think Miguel did pretty exceptional with ADORN and his album sales altough slow have been consistent…RACE does play a part but in all honesty, you know Justin could’ve slayed either way so i think its great he went the RnB route

    • F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ h***) February 3, 2013

Robin Thicke does RnB/Soul yet that poor man can’t sell for nothing, even with his “black” wife.
Stop using white exceptions to prove your point. JT has been in the eye of the media throughout his whole musical hiatus. He didn’t disappear without a peep unlike his black RnB counterparts which is why he is still able to sell.

      • :) February 3, 2013

Race doesn’t always have the problem. Some of these artist don’t get out there and promote their music. Brandy waited way too long and then barely promoted. Keyshia Cole just didnt do anything good songs on the album, but seems like she just gave up on the album. Just because you had platinum albums some years ago doesn’t mean you ax promoting. RnB is struggling, but that means RnB artists need to up their promotion. If the label isn’t giving its all to promote the album, then that means that artist needs to go HAM and promote the hell out of there material themselves. A lot of albums flopped in 2012, these singers just need to step up their game.

      • mob: Nat Turner dreamin’ February 3, 2013

I agree and Robin Thinke actually makes very good soild R&B songs. The Evolution Of Robin Thicke is still one of my favorite CDs. Justine is sounding too much like him nowdays.

The difference is that Thicke has always been R&B, while Timberfake is faking it for a buzz!

    • Darren February 3, 2013

all of miguel’s music is trash.

  6. Music Soul Harmony February 3, 2013

Album sounds promising. Im liking little pusher love, btw.

  7. Mc the place to be! February 3, 2013

I like that Justin didn’t take the easy way out with his music

  8. Music Soul Harmony February 3, 2013

Xedos: I love Miguel also. Who cares about race. Let’s just support rnb all together! If U support a genre or a good song, don’t let it slip.

  9. SayWhaaatt!!!!! February 3, 2013

Somewhere in hollywood Robin Thicke is pissed!

  10. Bryan Dossome February 3, 2013

I like it…all he needs now is keep the momentum going and this might just be the beginning to the end of europop craze that paralysed good music for the last 3yrs…Katy Perry and Kesha need to go away just like LMFAO did (they ain’t coming back, sorry)

  11. NΛVI February 3, 2013

miguel and others have great R&B albums but you don’t see people..esp black people being overwhelm when they do it but when Jt does it’s like second coming of christ pshhh..the songs are ok nothing special.

  12. Cookie – Rihanna – Toni Braxton February 3, 2013

Robin Thick already exists no need for a bootleg version.

    • JDE February 3, 2013

It’s funny how a Rihanna fan has the audacity to critique music. No one who admits to being into that bobbleheaded cartoon should be saying anything disparaging about another artist…especially one with considerably more talent.

      Stink ripe, like a diaper.

      • micheal February 4, 2013

justin is a legend robin thicke got 1 single dont try it

  13. Cream February 3, 2013

I just don’t think he care about music no more I can see it.

  14. Janet February 3, 2013

I’m pretty sure Britney & Mariah new album will be a game changer this year.
Beyonce, JT, Britney, Mariah & Lady Gaga… Bring It ON!

    • NΛVI February 3, 2013

      lady gaga??? really? smfh

      • F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ h***) February 3, 2013

        Yes b****! Gaga.
Don’t say anything when you stan for a crack addicted goat with no talent.

  15. Music Soul Harmony February 3, 2013

NAVI: white ppl are normally like that about their own race. They were like that about Elvis, the beatles also. They are always fainting at celebs. That’s how they are. However, me being black, I know where to draw the line. Lol I would never think anyone was Christ and I doubt any black ppl on here think JT as that either. And maybe blacks dont faint cuz we are use to black ppl having soul and making good rnb. But most are just here for good music. The fact that the first thing you have to point out is that he is white instead of he is talented shows the shallowness of this site. *sigh* let me just say Tina Marie, Jojo, robin Thicke and now JT were and are the last few whites that make good rnb so just enjoy the music and stop fussing about b*******. This site lives to hate. Ever since Sam’s biasness with Rihanna happened, the spite for other artists on this site has been real. I understand that ppl are frustrated with blacks not getting enough sales in the rnb department but that’s the consumer’s fault and their management marketing teams. Not anyone else’s. So save it. Didnt Kesha and Xtina debut with first week sales below 100k? Hmm ok…

  16. You Can’t Teach Class February 3, 2013

HOLY S***! I have been slayyeeeddd! This is the JT I was missing all these years! Can’t wait to hear the full album 😀

  17. soulmusiclover February 3, 2013

oh yeah! justin!! that’s what i’m talking about!

  18. F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ h***) February 3, 2013

I sure hope the same people that are complaining about blacks not selling well today are the same ones that are going out & buying these albums.

  19. Dev February 3, 2013

It’s nice but nothing we haven’t heard recently. He’ll sell but not due to an original sound, this may appeal to the fans and the media, but to us more seasoned folk who he’ll have to really pull it out the bag… really.

He’ll have to do wonders to get me away from Brandy, Miguel, SWV this year, also, Maxwells coming

  20. Chozen1 February 3, 2013

Looks like someone has been studying Usher’s Confessions album

    • butterfly February 3, 2013

after all these years, the media still puts them against each other, I wonder if they really hate each other, or if they’re still friends..

  21. ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ February 3, 2013

I like it! This is what I’m talking about JT! Bring it on. I’m ready for The 20/20 Experience.

  22. Likica February 3, 2013

I am here for new albums of
    Justin Timberlake
Avril Lavigne (Goodbye Lullaby was amazing)

Britney will make the same generic pop record (like Scream and Shout), Beyonce, hm, I don’t know, maybe she will surpise us. Hope Mariah will not make the same s*** with MOAIA, I didn’t like that album.

  23. Say What February 3, 2013

Y’all need to stop this White vs Black RnB s*** because its simply not TRUE…. Justin Timberlake is going to sale because of the fan base he created since his teens in the group inSync. Justin is smarter then most he knew when to sit his ass down and not compromise his fan base during this dance crap era like Usher. Most of the current black RnB acts simply doesn’t have a good team that knows how to create them a solid fan base. I think Justin’s success in RnB has more to do with him and his team making the right moves at the right time , less to do with color. Proof in put Usher who is black was more successful then JT with sales and etc. until he compromise his fan base . Plus his new music sounds very promising . I’m proud of JT, keeping true to his RnB sounds…

    • Dev February 3, 2013

Disagree, he doesn’t have a good team, he just has a fan base from when he was in nsync and was pushed to the front when he wasn’t the most talented (see Cheryl Cole for other reference) then encouraged to pursue a solo career and capitalise on his looks, okay voice, okay dancing and relationship with Britney. Justin took a break because he knew his star was fading and then went on to be a mediocre actor and the only reason he’s back is due to “demand” . He said he wasn’t coming back to music only weeks before suit and tie was released and suddenly he has a whole album ready to go. He was testing the waters. Now, don’t take this as “hate”, it just is what it is. And for the record, JT doesn’t make r&b, he makes pop&b

    • Yeezy February 3, 2013

      Best Comment

    • mob: Nat Turner dreamin’ February 3, 2013

      OH PLEASE!

Justine’s t*** fanbase was based on his POP MUCIS CAREER! Because he performed with a few BLACK FOLKS does not mean he has ever had a SOILD R&B following! What right moves? He is a WHITE MALE IN AMERICA any move he makes will be “the right move”!

  24. King B>Rihanna February 3, 2013

Justin Timberlake does get more sales than most black R&B artist because he is white. However him being white is like maybe 5% of the reason. The main reason why he is outshining Luke James, Miguel, Brandy and others it is because his music is more commercial and he has a mainstream appeal to his music. Miguel and Luke James music do not appeal to the general masses because it is very old school traditional r&b but yet modern but lacks a mainstream appeal meaning casual listeners don’t get it.Justin Timberlake has a more commercial sound that casual listeners of music like which lead to more sales.

    • Ayo February 3, 2013

I was with you until you sais his r&b was more commercial

    • mob: Nat Turner dreamin’ February 3, 2013

Please Timberfake being —> WHITE <— is the PRIMARY REASON HE SALES MORE! He receives more media fanfare and attention than Brandy, Luke James, Migual or any other BLACK R&B artist including media darlin' Usher Raymond!

In white America, white is always right. Black people like to pretend as if they don't know the truth! A White Pop star singing a form of R&B hybrid music will sell. He is just following Adele and Amy Winehouse formula for success!

  25. jkd February 3, 2013

HES IN NEW ORLEANS. SO THE RUMORS ABOUT HIM BEING THE FEATURE ON BEYONKA’S NEW TRACK MIGHT BE TRUE. SEE U AT THE SUPERBOWL JT

  26. Aishaaguilerakeystesfaye February 3, 2013

    Sounds good.

  27. CHUDDS February 3, 2013

I’m feeling the “Pusher Girl” song. The other….mmmm, not so much. I agree that Justin has the upper hand when it comes to R&B, his race DOES pay a party whether yall want to admit it or not. But the main reason is, he has a SOLID fanbase. He has invested his money into so many avenues doing his hiatus, he’s been acting, he got married & he pretty much STAYED in the public eye. Usher outsold JT in his prime (solo wise; not including N’Sync sales). Hell, Usher has a DIAMOND album in the US alone, but he failed to remain consistent and lost the majority of his fanbase.

And with that being said, I’m looking forward to March 19!!!

    • CHUDDS February 3, 2013

*his race DOES play a part

    • butterfly February 3, 2013

I agree. While Justin did take a break from music, he still remained in the public. But I disagree about Usher losing his fanbase, he still has a huge amount of fans, it just doesn’t seem like it because Usher has been low key since he had kids, also that four year hiatus between Confessions and Here I Stand really screwed it up. Either way, I’m pretty sure Usher has been slacking because he just doesn’t care about album sales anymore. I still think Usher is more talented though.

    • Pop Royalty February 3, 2013

usher and his fanbase are doing just fine , he just lost the bandwagon fans ages ago unlike JT.

    • mob: Nat Turner dreamin’ February 3, 2013

Wait so POP STAR, Timberfake is now doing R&B but you accuse Usher of being a sellout? LOL okay Sparky *Keith Ledger voice* sure!

JT will get the Adele & Amy Winehouse treatement that’s for sure. Although I loved “Back To Black” & a few songs by Adele!

      • butterfly February 3, 2013

Smh…. That is what I’ll never get is why Usher gets called a sellout when Looking 4Myself is R&B, there are only like4 pop songs on there out of nearly 20 songs, and its a damn good album too.

      • Ohdeam February 4, 2013

That’s 4 too many. Usher never made “pop” before it became popular…and on top of that, those “pop” songs are the ones getting preferential treatment promotional-wise. “Lemme See” is 10x better than “Scream,” yet he and RCA made it a point to throw bigger promotion behind the latter…while letting the former languish with little promotion outside the Chitlin’ circuit.

        Usher IS a sellout,

  28. Gary C February 3, 2013

if anyone has the ability to bring R&B back to the charts its JT.

  29. MusicLoveChild February 3, 2013

    I JUST CAME

  30. JOHNVIDAL February 3, 2013

I think he´s going to sell well in the USA when it comes to album copies, at list first week. He´s probably not going to get #1 singles this time. That´s very probable too
But these two songs are definitely better than that first single which is all kinds of below average. I think he´s been studying some artists recent work and he´s gotten a little bit from here and there. It´s funny that I even heard a little bit of Lana del Rey on these songs lol I know, weird

    • S****** Blonde February 3, 2013

(I think he´s been studying some artists recent work and he´s gotten a little bit from here and there).

Funny how you only notice this with him and not with Gaga.

  31. :) February 3, 2013

Im glad Justin is bringing back real RnB and didn’t do this pop trash. He has always had some RnB/Pop music, so I wasn’t shocked. RnB needs to come back all the way this year 2013. This EuroPop is getting over rated and on my nerves. Plus I wish Taylor Swift (a country music singer imposter) would shut the F**K up too. “As Long as I got my suit and tie ima make it on the floor tonight” 2 albums I will be buying this year are Justin Timberlake “20/20 Experience” and Kelly Rowland “YOTW”

  32. Yeezy February 3, 2013

The production lyrics and direction seem very solid I’m excited for a new JT album… This seems very feel good… I’m all about this R&B revival.. no race wars neccessary

    • mob: Nat Turner dreamin’ February 3, 2013

LOL why is a POP artists now considered the new SAVIOR of R&B? Damn it’s as bad as a con-artist who said he did not waant to be labeled as an R&B artists, FAKE Ocean also being declared the new KANG of R&B just because he wrote an open letter admitting he had been lying to women and f**king men. Yeah i can see how these two are the “gods” everyone has been praying for….LOL 🙂

  33. Pop Royalty February 3, 2013

how the f*** @SUICIDEBLONDE didn’t show up his Ass on this post yet ?

your man is doing great !!

Musically , Adele , Lana and now JT will be constantly in my eras ! they make it good tbh.

    • S****** Blonde February 3, 2013

I know, i’m in love again, again and again.

  34. Cr February 3, 2013

    Sht.

  35. DASTARKIDD February 3, 2013

REAL MUSIC OMG JUSTIN YOU WERE WORTH THE DAMN WAIT!!!!!!! EVERYONE IN THE INDUSTRY TAKE NOTES, SIT DOWN, GET YOURSELF TOGETHER AND GET CORRECT BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL SETTING THE DAMN MARK!!!!!!!

  36. Shawn152 February 3, 2013

NO! Just No Justin!!! WTF is this s***? You make us wait 7 years for this? I can’t…

    • mob: Nat Turner dreamin’ February 3, 2013

Thank You! Why is he copying Robin Thicke tho?

  37. mob: Nat Turner dreamin’ February 3, 2013

LOL REALLY? This song is as bad as the 1st just without the “stank” of Beyonce’s pet camel! I’m sorry but Justtine Timberfake is sounding TOO MUCH LIKE Paula Patton’s husband Robin Thicke!

  38. S****** Blonde February 3, 2013

I told you his album is gonna be awesome, he keep the best songs to last, OMG he sounds and look so good, I almost fainted.

  39. Mykey Saucedo February 4, 2013

I’ve been a huge Justin fan way back since *Nsync and I love his voice, but this new stuff sounds a lot like Robin Thicke. Future S**/Love Sounds was an amazing album. I’m questionable about this shift.
