After an array of delays, it seems Ashanti is finally ready to take her ‘Braveheart’ album off life-support — yet not before pushing back the LP one more time.
Full story after the jump…
Previously due last month (following a series of unmet release dates), Amazon now lists the project as arriving in stores on June 4th 2013.
We wouldn’t hold our breath though. Why? Because the album’s “lead single”, ‘The Woman You Love’, premiered in 2011. Yes, two actual years ago.
At this point, Ashanti will need a miracle of biblical proportions to superglue this mess of a project back together.
We’ve said it countless times, but can’t say it enough — independent isn’t for everyone. Artists like Ashanti hoping to make more dollars going it alone still need buzz enough to bake the “sales pie” they want a bigger slice from. Put simply, an 80% share of “nothing” still equals “nothing”.
Needless to say, Ashanti has her work cut out for her in turning the “nothing” that defines this album into something tangible. We wish her the best of luck.
