Elijah Blake – ‘Started From The Bottom (Drake Remix)’

Published: Friday 15th Mar 2013 by David

New music alert!

He’s the R&B Prince carving the genre’s new sound via Keyshia Cole, Marsha Ambrosius and Rihanna. Now, before the release of his debut album via Def Jam and Roc Nation, Elijah Blake gifts us his very own take on Drake‘s smash hit single, ‘Started From The Bottom‘.

Sure to boost even more interest in his critically acclaimed ‘Bijoux 22‘ EP, the cover comes as the original single hit US sales of 648,547 units, and months after the aforementioned ‘Bijoux’ became the fastest downloaded R&B EP at Def Jam.

You say you hate them but you were the first to comment. Listen, i hate the Rihanna/Kim shade but if you’re gonna sit here and say they ain’t a cut above all the rest you are a liar.

You proved that point yourself when you were the FIRST to comment even though you say you hate it here.

I deadass can’t believe how many new boys they have out now. I use Frank, I like Trey and Drake but I think I can starting use this one as long as he doesn’t try too hard to be a thug because that’s what turns me all the way off. I love his voice, it reminds me of Brandy’s.

Not gonna slate him as he can clearly write a tune #Climax, but this was whack…, trying to shoehorn so many curse words into the track doesn’t make him sound thuggish, it makes him sounds like an idiot. Like I said, don’t wanna slate him for this trend as it’s been in the works for a while and he’s not solely responsible but I guess my problem is it doesn’t sound at all authentic from any of these cats. Especially as for the most part, each of them have had a pretty pampered existence prior to getting into the industry…, whether it’s the rich indie kids of the 90’s complaining about middle class life or these new boujee urban kids doing the same, it’s irritating. It’s like ‘Come on! S** and Coke ain’t ‘struggle”.

Useful stuff, but the theme do not display correctly on my Powerbook…maybe you ought to verify that out. Thanks, anyway.
