Granted it a makes a change to see Rihanna as the clothed party (for once), the clip certainly makes for interesting viewing. Indeed, putting aside the fact she shouldn’t be out partying (if even just to save face after cancellation-gate), it’s almost laughable that this is who folk are hailing as a feminist.
Sure, her gimmick has always celebrated liberation, however given the systematic and historical sexualisation of women for male consumption, I feel Rih is sending the wrong message here. Now, if she was there tipping a male stripper (hence flipping the control roles), there’d seem to be a bit of method to the madness. But, clearly there isn’t.
