Though US audiences may have overlooked this, Kylie Minogue is nothing short of a Pop icon. Now, in honouring the role she played in bringing awareness to breast cancer when she battled (and beat) the disease in 2005, she is to be awarded by The Entertainment Industry Foundation’s (EIF) Women’s Cancer Research Fund.

On May 2nd, the Roc Nation star will attend Beverly-Wilshire Hotel where she will be handed the ‘2013 Courage Award’, ‘for her fight against breast cancer and dedication to raising awareness for the disease”.
Undoubtedly well deserved, her acceptance of the award at the ‘An Unforgettable Evening’ will see her celebrate the 16th anniversary of the Women’s Cancer Research Fund, and rub shoulders with the night’s host Chelsea Handler and designer Caroline Herrera.
This news comes weeks after she enlisted ‘Telephone‘ producer Darkchild and ‘Runnin’ Blind‘ singer Elijah Blake to craft her 12th studio album…her first since 2010’s ‘Aphrodite‘.

Stunning woman, i just love her, she’s a star, great performer, great singer, she has an amazing catalogue. I remember Madonna’s comments on the song “Speakerphone” made everyone notice the song, it had the potential to be a hit in the USA but she didnt release the song as a single. Kylie is a wonderful person, a truly fighter, she is not very famous in the US but she is like the second Madonna in the rest of the world, way before Britney, Kylie was known as the Princess of Pop, she’s the light while Madge is the dark, , they need to do a song together, that would be ecstasy to my ears, i love me some Aphrodite.

Congrats Kylie but we all know now that she is with Roc Nation they are just gonna start pulling awards right out of the @ss for her. If they really wanted to give her this award they would have done so in 2010 already.I am not trying to take anything away from Kylie and her acomplishments but the US is predictable with these kind of things.
