Does Beyonce have classic material?
Though the answer to that question will be obvious to her supporters, it isn’t easy so clear for any who aren’t as in tune with her career as they are.
For, by way of the brief hiatus she took to raise her daughter Blue Ivy (and Pop’s forgetful nature), it’s become a little too easy to overlook the impact the star made with her first three solo albums and her work with Destiny’s Child before that.
So, in reminding the world of the classic jams that dominated airwaves well before nabbing all 17 of her Grammys, the ‘Creole’ gem served a killer performance of B’Day‘s ‘Freakdum Dress‘ on her latest world tour.

While it’s not as celebrated as Madonna‘s ‘Vogue’ or Janet‘s ‘Pleasure Principle’, ‘Dress‘- the way we see it- is just as classic as ‘Crazy In Love‘ and ‘Single Ladies’.
For, much like when we recognise Janet’s influence when watch Britney at her peak, we’ll know that ‘Freakum Dress’ (and its live outings) is classic with every hair flick, vocal roar and live band driven Pop’n’B cut spawned by our next batch of starlets.
Think about it. Save for her ballads, every single Bey jam that’s enjoyed mass appeal serves the same formula that has made her sound impossible to replicate without detection… (see ‘End Of Time’, ‘Love On Top’, ‘Crazy In Love’, ‘Schoolin Life’, ‘Work It Out’ and ‘Deja Vu’).

BC Jean was clearly disgruntled by the label that didnt see her a commercially viable artist, the contract she signed obviously made it viable for them to give the song to another artist. After all the success the song gained (which it would’nt have had she released it) she really has no leg to stand on in the complaints department, she should just count the money Beyoncce made for her with that song.
Deseree was pissed that she changed the lyrics after they had GRANTED her permission to do the song. She too was stupid because she could have gone to the bank judging by the success of the album Bday. I cant comment on “cater to u” “survivor” “baby boy” or the countdown music video. For this woman to say that the video technology use inn the run the world billboard performance is ambitious. She knows as much about that technology as Beyonce does. Whats even more important is that Beyonce did her’s better and its the one that WILL be remembered. As far as the yellow dress goes, you’d have to eliminate all the yelow dresses that were worn by women the entire year of the loud tour in order to come to the conclusion that beyonce copied Rihanna.

Her most classic era was DIL. Then IASF (mainly cos of the songs). 4 was her most quality era and b day, well, that was just a fun era for me. But she of course she has classic songs more than anything SL and CIL being the biggest. But people dont realise just how known Beyonce songs are, even the ones the werent hits. She can attend any festival across the globe (it doesnt have to be her own concert) and the whole crowd knows the words and moves to her songs. It’s awesome that she still chooses to perform this song. “Freakum Dress” is one of those songs that I prefer to hear it live rather than the studio version because Beyonce always NAILS it.
