Upon announcing her pregnancy back in the summer of 2011, many would have been right to think Beyonce‘s ‘4‘- the album she was pushing at the time- would suffer on a commercial tip as a result.
However, in what cements the entertainer’s position as an album seller, the LP is currently experiencing a global sales rebirth as a result of her ‘Mrs.Carter Show’- pushing the release even nearer to the 3 million units sold worldwide mark.
Details below…
After watching sales of the project soar during the European leg of the tour, Sunday saw Beyonce receive news that the album has flown back into the UK Top 40- rising to #26 on the overall chart- outselling albums released two years after its own birthday.
Prompted by the show’s UK outing, the renewed interest in the album saw her sell enough units to snap at the heels of Rihanna‘s ‘Unapologetic’ on the Urban chart, claiming the #4 spot while the former sat at #3.
This, despite being released 73 weeks after the Symbolyc One assisted release.
As if that wasn’t enough, the ‘Obsessed‘ star’s 2008 smash ‘Single Ladies’ sold enough copies in the last week to re-enter the Top 40 at #34- 223 weeks after dropping in the nation.
A Queen indeed.
